Bai Bua shop
Tucked along Ratchadamnoen Road in the Phra Singh neighbourhood, Bai Bua Shop is a clothing store that has built a strong following among travellers seeking comfortable, lightweight garments suited to Thailand's warm climate. The focus here is on natural fabrics — linen and cotton shirts, skirts, pants, dresses, and elephant trousers in less conventional designs — making it a practical stop for those looking to refresh their wardrobe or pick up something breathable for the road ahead. The shop stands out for its range of sizing, which visitors note is unusually inclusive compared to many clothing retailers in the region. Prices are clearly displayed throughout the store and are non-negotiable, which keeps the shopping experience straightforward and stress-free. Staff are consistently praised for being welcoming and attentive, and a fitting room is available so shoppers can try before they buy. A few practical things to keep in mind: the shop accepts cash only, so it is worth stopping at an ATM beforehand. Bai Bua Shop is open seven days a week, with slightly extended hours on Sundays until 19:00. Given its location near the historic Phra Singh area, it pairs well with a broader wander through that part of the old city. Those who have visited once frequently return for a second look — a good sign that the selection holds up on repeat visits.

Visitor Reviews
There's a good collection of clothes here, including elephant trousers in not-so-typical designs, dresses, shirts, etc. The prices are very reasonable (and clearly displayed). There's a fitting room, so there's no need to worry about the size. They tell you to hand-wash the clothes in cold water. The first time I did so, some of the colour ran - but this was not a big problem easily fixed with some oxygen bleach. Perhaps one should simply use oxygen bleach for the first wash. I don't think they accept credit cards, so bring cash.
Highly recommend this shop for all if not most of your clothing needs. Great variety of sizes which is very hard to find in Asia. The lady and staff who runs the store are so welcoming and helpful Super affordable and left with some lovely purchases

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
