Klong Khong Beach
Klong Khong Beach sits along the western coast of Ko Lanta in Krabi Province, offering a quieter alternative to the island's busier stretches of sand. Long and sandy, the beach is notable for its collection of shells and sea glass, and its shore is lined with a solid selection of restaurants, beach bars, cafés, and massage parlours — giving it more amenity than many of Ko Lanta's more remote beaches while still retaining a genuinely unhurried atmosphere. Swimming conditions here are tide-dependent and worth understanding before you go. In the morning and through the early afternoon, the water is generally swimmable and calm. By mid to late afternoon, the tide recedes significantly, exposing coral and making swimming difficult or impossible around sunset. Visitors tend to find this less of a drawback than it sounds — the beach remains a pleasant place to eat, drink, and unwind regardless of the tidal state. Good to know: Ko Lanta's dry season runs from November to April, when conditions are most reliable for beach visits. Getting to Ko Lanta requires a ferry from the Krabi mainland or from nearby islands, so factor in travel time when planning. Klong Khong Beach is accessible around the clock, but mornings and early afternoons offer the best combination of swimmable water and a quieter crowd. Sun protection is advisable, and those hoping to swim should time their visit with the tides in mind.

Visitor Reviews
Khlong Kong Beach has a really lovely, laid-back atmosphere. There are plenty of beach bars, restaurants, and massage places along the shore, and most of the spots we visited were very nice. The hotels and resorts in the area also seem charming and relaxed. Swimming is possible during high tide, although there are quite a few rocks in the water. At low tide, however, swimming is hardly possible. Overall, I really enjoyed the vibe of the area and the beach. It's a great spot if you’re looking for a relaxed and easygoing setting.
Lovely, and peaceful, long sandy beach. The beach is filled with many beautiful shells and sea glass. When the Tide is out you can't really swim as there's too much coral. When the tide is in, it's lovely for swimming with clear water and a mostly Sandy bottom. The sunsets and Moon rises are perfect for viewing from the beach. A nice variety of restaurants and music venues, are sprinkled along the shore.
We loved this beach, is really nice and quiet, but it has two moods: In the morning you have plenty of sea to go in, but after 3 or 4pm the sea goes down a lot and around sunset you cannot go in, it’s full of rocks. And it’s free, the only one you have to pay to enter is beautiful beach.

Check Monsoon Seasons
The Andaman coast (Phuket, Krabi) has rough seas from May to October. The Gulf coast (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan) is roughest from October to December. Plan your island-hopping around these windows.
Snorkel Gear Is Cheap to Buy
Rental gear is often scratched and ill-fitting. Buy a decent mask and snorkel at a Tesco Lotus or Big C for 300–500 THB — cheaper than two days of rentals and much more hygienic.
Book Ferries on 12Go.Asia
The 12Go platform lets you compare ferry operators, times, and prices between islands. Book a day or two ahead in high season. Avoid the cheapest operators if reviews mention safety concerns.
