Ton Ao Yon Waterfall
Tucked into the jungle of Phuket's Wichit district, Ton Ao Yon Waterfall offers a genuine escape from the island's coastal crowds. The waterfall begins directly beside the parking area and follows a rocky, stream-lined trail deep into dense vegetation, with lush plants and hanging vines framing the path throughout. Two cascades reward those who make the walk — the first appearing around 100 metres in, the second a further 400 metres into the jungle — with natural pools shallow enough for wading and cooling off in clean, clear water. The experience here is unhurried and unpolished in the best sense. There are no significant tourist facilities, no entrance fee, and the setting retains a distinctly local character. The rocky terrain demands sure footing, and the trail involves crossing stones and getting wet along the way, which adds to the adventure for those prepared for it. Waterproof sandals or diving shoes with good grip are strongly recommended, as the rocks can be slippery and sharp in places. The waterfall is at its most impressive during and shortly after the rainy season when water flow peaks, though the trail becomes especially wet underfoot at this time. Getting there requires a scooter or private vehicle, as public transport options are limited. Arriving earlier in the day tends to mean fewer visitors and a more peaceful experience. Insect repellent is worth packing, as the jungle surroundings are dense and facilities on-site are minimal.

Visitor Reviews
Good and refreshing bath time for me. Totally enjoyed soaking myself in the clean clear water. Not a too difficult trail if you are ready to get wet. Getting there along the way on your bike was enjoyable for me too.
Great sight, though rocks and the way there is very hard, best to have waterproof diving shoes to avoid getting you feet cut. Visited end of rainy season and it was impossible to get there with dry shoes
The waterfall starts right by the parking lot and follows deep into the jungle. It is surrounded by beautiful plants and vines. You have to walk to it on stony ground, so you have to be careful. There are several waterfalls here, the last level is the fifth. The higher you go, the more beautiful and primitive nature becomes. This is a non-tourist place, there are not many people here. The nature here is beautiful and the atmosphere is quiet and peaceful The flora and fauna of this place is especially worth mentioning. There are beautiful trees, which you will not see in other places of the island. The wild jungle, plants and flowers are a delight to the eye. There are also beautiful butterflies and various birds, as well as huge spiders, snakes and lizards - watch your step! * to visit this attraction you should have water, repellent and comfortable shoes l best time to visit: June - October admission: free Full information with video and easy navigation - in the app 👉 PHUKETON
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
