Bang Pae Waterfall
Tucked into the forested interior of Thalang District in northern Phuket, Bang Pae Waterfall offers a genuine natural escape from the island's busier coastal attractions. A 200 baht entry fee grants access to a well-maintained trail leading through dense tropical jungle to a series of cascades, with the walk taking roughly 15 minutes on foot. The path is manageable for most fitness levels and has been described by visitors as suitable even for young children, though some sections are rocky and require care. The atmosphere is notably calm and uncrowded compared to Phuket's mainstream tourist sites. Visitors can explore multiple tiers of the waterfall, with small pools along the way where wading is possible. The surrounding jungle adds to the experience, with the sounds of running water and wildlife creating a peaceful setting well suited to photography, picnicking, or simply unwinding. Good to know: Water flow is at its most impressive during the rainy season, roughly May through October, making this the recommended time for the full waterfall experience. The entry fee is payable on arrival, and no advance booking is required. As the site has limited facilities and no confirmed taxi rank on-site, visitors arriving without their own transport should arrange for a return ride in advance, as one reviewer notes. Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes for the rocky trail, and bring insect repellent.

Visitor Reviews
Two pretty waterfalls at the end of a really nice trail. Nothing extraordinary, but still very calm and serene. Some spots along the trail were sadly littered on, but nonetheless the jungle was still amazing. We went in January, and the water in the smaller pool by the smaller waterfall was actually a bit chilly, but still bearable and refreshing in the heat (saying as someone who really hates cold, has a thin skin, and bad blood flow), but be careful, the water there was unclear and the pool's floor uneven and at some places sharp. Overall I found this place magical, and for me it was worth the 200 baht entrance fee to the park, I had a good time.
Super calm and Serene waterfall. It's a rocky path but it's climbable for the competent. There are small areas throughout the waterfall that you can stop and get in. The bottom is a little bit Rocky but it's fun to take a dip on a hot day. Bugs weren't too bad, no snakes that I saw. And across the waterfall there is a small monkey rescue and you can hear them howling the whole time. It makes it feel very jungle-esque. You don't have to book a tour. All you have to do is rent a scooter and drive here
Paid 200 bath per person to get in! Well worth it!!! Hardly anyone around too! And the ones that were, were kind and helped us!! The waterfall was absolutely amazing!! So beautiful and 100% would come again ♥️♥️ (We brought bug repellent and that was definitely a good idea)
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
