Selfie Photo Stair Bamboo Rice Field
Tucked away in the Thung Yao area outside Pai, this tourist attraction draws visitors with its bamboo bridge walkway set against expansive rice field views. The combination of traditional rural scenery and accessible vantage points makes it a worthwhile stop for travellers exploring the Pai region, particularly those who have already visited nearby Pai Canyon. An entrance fee of 30 baht keeps the experience affordable. The rice fields are the centrepiece of the visit, offering open countryside views and photo opportunities along the bamboo structure. Visitors describe it as a genuinely pleasant place to spend an afternoon, with the scenery rewarding those who make the effort to get there. The attraction is open every day from 06:00 to 17:30, giving flexibility for morning or midday visits. A few practical points are worth noting before heading out. The road leading to the site is rough and can be challenging on a motorcycle, especially given the volume of traffic from other tourists. Timing also matters for the rice fields themselves — visiting during the greener growing months will deliver a more visually striking experience, as the fields can appear dry and muted later in the season, particularly around December. Arriving earlier in the day helps avoid peak crowds on the access road.

Visitor Reviews
It's quite a nice spot to visit. The ticket is 30 baht. It's a big rice field. Unfortunately,we went there in December so it's not that green anymore. It would be more beautiful if the field was green which should be between October-November.
Actually quite a beautiful place to explore for an afternoon. Entrance fee is 30 Baht and everything is looking really beautiful.
The bamboo bridge is nice, it has a nice vieuw. However, is has become quite the attraction. The way there is long and the absolute worst if you drive a motorcycle, so be prepared.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
