Wareerak Hot Spring & Wellness
Tucked into the lush landscape of Khlong Thom district, this hot spring and wellness retreat offers something increasingly rare: genuinely hot thermal pools in a natural, unhurried setting. Notably close to Krabi Airport — around 30 minutes — the grounds feel far more remote than the drive suggests, with well-tended but unpretentious surroundings that lean into the natural environment rather than competing with it. The facility operates as both a resort and a day-visit destination, meaning travellers do not need to book an overnight stay to access the hot spring pools, making it a flexible stop on a broader Krabi itinerary. The thermal pools vary in temperature, which visitors with young children have found particularly practical, and the site includes a dining room serving evening meals at honest prices. Wellness treatments such as massage are also available on-site. The atmosphere is peaceful and low-key rather than resort-polished, which suits those looking for a restorative experience over a commercial one. Good to know: Day visitors are welcome and typically pay a small entry fee for pool access, so an overnight stay is not required. Bringing swimwear, a towel, and flip-flops is advisable, as the pools reach genuinely high temperatures. Reception experiences have occasionally been noted as inconsistent by visitors, so arriving with patience and clear questions about services and pricing is worthwhile. The dry season, running roughly November through April, offers the most comfortable outdoor conditions for a visit.

Visitor Reviews
This place is incredible!!! It’s only ~30m away from Krabi Airport, but the setting feels so remote and natural. The grounds aren’t overly manicured, but well cared-for. The hot spring pools are really as beautiful as they look in the photos and so delightful to relax in and around. The food at the restaurant is good. Service is extremely warm and helpful. It’s not too large, so doesn’t feel crowded. Despite being there in the high season, I often had the hot springs to myself. My spa services were only so-so (very polite, but a light touch for both and they don’t have beds with holes for your head, so they’re a little less comfortable). I still had a wonderful stay overall.
We stumbled upon this place by chance and discovered a true hidden gem. We didn’t expect to be able to use the facilities without staying overnight, but that was absolutely no problem. We paid a small fee and were able to enjoy the hot pools almost entirely to ourselves. The peaceful atmosphere and natural surroundings made it an unforgettable experience. Truly a special place and an incredible experience we won’t forget.
We came for three nights with our baby and had the most wonderful time! The hot springs are gorgeous and surprisingly baby friendly as there’s a range of temperatures. The setting is natural and peaceful. Food was incredible, and the staff are so kind and helpful. We intended to explore the area but ended up never leaving the resort because we were so happy to be there! A highlight of our travels.
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
