Than Lot Noi Cave
Tucked away in Si Sawat District within a national park setting, Than Lot Noi Cave offers two trail options that suit different levels of interest and fitness. The shorter route — a 250 to 300 metre walkway taking around 15 to 20 minutes — guides visitors through well-maintained paths past stalactites, stalagmites, and striking limestone formations. Those wanting more can tackle the longer 2.5 kilometre trail through the surrounding cave system. The cave's remote location keeps visitor numbers low, giving it a peaceful, unhurried atmosphere that sets it apart from more commercialised cave attractions in Thailand. The surrounding national park adds to the appeal, with lush vegetation and dramatic karst scenery framing the entrance. The cave itself requires some ducking at certain points, and natural light is limited inside, so the experience feels genuinely exploratory rather than polished. Visitors consistently note the calm, natural atmosphere as one of the cave's strongest qualities. Good to know: The dry season, roughly November to February, offers the most comfortable visiting conditions, though the cave is worth visiting year-round. Wear sturdy footwear with good grip to handle uneven surfaces, and bring a flashlight or headlamp. The site's distance from central Kanchanaburi means reliable transport is essential — visiting as part of an organised tour is a practical option. Weekday visits tend to be quieter, and it is advisable to check access conditions in advance as opening hours are not consistently posted online.

Visitor Reviews
There’s a 2.5 km trail for big cave trail but for those who are not really into a long walk, a small cave trail is more than good enough. It takes only 15-20 minutes for 250-300m strolling path. You can check out a small part of the fall at the exit of the small cave before turning back or if you want to, you can continue the trail for the big cave or bigger fall.
Off the beaten track, Tham Than Lot is one of the most attractive and relaxing national parks in Thailand. It is a little too far for the busy tourist schedule which makes it perfect for that family outing
Tham Lot Noi Cave is absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is peaceful and natural, with stunning rock formations inside. Truly worth a visit! 🪨✨

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
