Meena Café
Tucked into the countryside of Tambon Muang Chum, roughly 20 minutes from central Kanchanaburi, this café and tourist attraction draws visitors primarily for its sweeping views across lush rice fields and its distinctive backdrop of Wat Tham Seua. A long bamboo bridge crossing the fields has become the venue's signature feature, offering a naturally photogenic setting that pairs well with a relaxed stop for drinks or a light meal. The surrounding greenery and tranquil atmosphere make it a worthwhile detour for travellers seeking a slower pace between sightseeing. The menu is mid-range in price and covers decent café fare, with a few standout items — visitors particularly note the honeycomb snack as an unusual find. Food options lean limited for vegetarians, though drinks are well-regarded. Service is consistently described as friendly and attentive, and ample parking is available on-site. The venue falls under both café and tourist attraction categories, functioning comfortably as both. Good to know: Meena Café sits outside the town centre in a rural location, which means ride-hailing apps can be unreliable for the return journey. Arriving by private transport, rental vehicle, or arranging a return pickup in advance is strongly recommended to avoid being stranded. As opening hours are not listed online, checking ahead before making the trip out is also advisable.

Visitor Reviews
Service: friendly and Location: 20mins or so from the main kanchanaburi center. Plenty of parking outside the cafe Food&drinks: decent menu. Love that they have honeycomb snack which i dont see around a lot Experience; the temple and green rice field makes an amazing contrast and is very vivid. We went there around 11am so the sun was blazing and there were a lot of patrons but there wwre plenty of seats, laying round area, and fans. Its super relaxing to just sit and absorb the atmosphere. If we didnt have to rush to lunch, we would have stayed for a lot longer! Would I come back? Definitely. Amazing and pretty unique view, nice drinks with reasonable price and plenty of space to relax and lounge around. A nice spot to visit outside of Kanchanaburi
Tourist Trap? Maybe but they trap you with quality. You can't beat the tranquility and views you get from Meena. Lush rice fields lovely greenery and an exquisite view of Wat Tham Seua , I recommend exploring the temple and then coming down to Meena for lunch as it puts the view and lushness into perspective. The food here is also amazing. Great noodles and even better drinks - the coffee, honey lemon and Thai tea were all some of the best drinks we've had. The service was also fine dining level everyone was efficient friendly and willing to help. Price point also affordable for a ' touristy place ' . What they've done with this place must be studied and experienced. I will never get tired of coming here. 10/10
• This cafe offers a beautiful rice field landscape, highlighted by a long bamboo bridge that creates a very photogenic and relaxing atmosphere. • The most distinctive feature is the background view of Tham Suea Temple, which adds a strong sense of place and makes the cafe stand out. • The drinks are good but not outstanding, while the food is decent and meets expectations without being particularly memorable. Overall, the main reason to visit is clearly the view rather than the menu.
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
