Kaeng Krachan Dam Rope Bridge
Spanning the reservoir of Kaeng Krachan Dam within one of Thailand's largest national parks, this rope bridge is a popular stop for visitors combining light adventure with natural scenery. The crossing itself makes for an excellent photo opportunity, with open water views stretching out on either side, and the surrounding parkland providing a peaceful, unhurried atmosphere well away from the main tourist trail. Beyond the bridge, the area offers more than a single crossing. Visitors can rent bicycles for around 30 baht and follow a route that takes in two rope bridges, while boat trips on the reservoir are available for 600 baht per boat. A paved trail extends from the far side of the bridge, though it sees relatively light foot traffic. Only one bridge is currently open to the public, and crossing it leads to a small island that can be looped on foot. The setting is particularly photogenic around sunset, when the light over the water is at its best. Good to know: There is currently no entrance fee to access the bridge area, making it an affordable addition to a visit to Kaeng Krachan National Park. A small population of stray dogs roams the grounds, which some visitors find off-putting. The site is best reached by private vehicle via Highway 4006, and the cooler months between November and February offer the most comfortable conditions for cycling and walking. Confirming current access details with local tourism offices in Hua Hin before making the trip is advisable, as opening arrangements are not publicly listed.

Visitor Reviews
Great place to be at the Kaeng Krachan National Park. There are boat trips on offer at 600.- / boat and bicycle can be rented at 30 baht. No entrance fee. A bicycle route will take you across 2 rope bridges and around 2 small islands.
“A popular viewpoint in Kaeng Krachan National Park that you have to drive to. It’s a recommended photo spot with beautiful scenery, especially near sunset. It’s also nice to take a relaxed walk around the area.”
By far this is one of the best national parks to visit in the country. There are several pedestrian bridges but only 1 bridge is open for public. once you cross the bridge, you can only circle the island which there is not too many things to see. Bicycle rental is available but I do recommend it because it is simply not long enough to go cycling around the park. For those who are interested in overnight camping, it is available and there is a proper camping ground. Make sure to check the rates since the rate is different between the foreigners and locals. There is also a cafe at the entrance so if you need to anything to fill you up, this will be the place to go. There are also a few kiosks offering light snacks but I am not sure if they are stationed there on a daily basis.
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
