Camel Republic
Situated along Phet Kasem Road between Hua Hin and Cha-am, this open-air animal park offers something genuinely different from the beach-focused attractions that dominate the region. The defining experience is hands-on rather than passive — visitors can feed camels, alpacas, and a range of other species directly, creating a sense of connection that sets it apart from a conventional zoo visit. Despite the name, the animal variety on site is broad enough to give the place the feel of a small zoo combined with a petting park, making it a natural draw for families with children and animal lovers. The atmosphere is casual and unhurried, spread across a spacious rural property that rewards those who take their time. Entrance fees are budget-friendly, reportedly starting from around 80 baht, with additional charges for specific feeding activities. Visitors frequently single out the close-up animal interactions as the highlight of their experience, with several describing it as one of the more memorable stops on a longer trip through Thailand. Good to know: the venue sits along a major road corridor and is most practically reached by personal transport or as part of an organised tour from Hua Hin or Cha-am. All activities take place outdoors, so sun protection, a hat, and comfortable clothing are strongly recommended. Visiting during the cooler dry season between November and February makes the outdoor setting considerably more pleasant. As opening hours are not reliably confirmed online, it is worth checking locally or contacting the venue directly before making the journey.

Visitor Reviews
Absolutely spectacular! Camel Republic is one of those rare places where you don’t just look at the animals — you actually connect with them. Feeding camels, alpacas, and other animals straight from your hand, gently petting them and feeling that instant bond is pure magic. The entire park is beautifully kept, the animals look healthy and happy, and the experience is both relaxing and unforgettable. It’s not just a visit — it’s a genuine moment of joy and harmony with nature. A must‑do in Hua Hin, especially if you want memories that stay with you long after the trip. Five stars without a doubt!
I love this place! I brought my daughter to Camel Republic because she loves animals. Here, she had the opportunity to get really close to different animals, interact with them, and feed them. This is an experience she can't find in books in my country. The entrance fee is very affordable, and the staff are polite and helpful. We visited on a weekday, which might be why the park was so quiet. Unfortunately, we visited not long after the rain stopped, so we didn't get a chance to ride on a camel. Overall, it was a fun and educational experience.
Very good zoo at cha am. The Google map score is quite low so I had low expectations about here. Here ticket is only 80 baht. And inside have so many kind of animals. All the feeding needs to pay extra fee or buying coupons. Some are expensive if you want to ride horse or camel. Normal feeding price is acceptable. The equipment is old and little bit. Would say here it’s worth to come on the way to Hua Hin. And here is not crowded so won’t feel uncomfortable. It will be better they provide a map because here is quite big so may miss some zone.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
