Terrace Bar & Cuisine Restaurant
Situated on Prapokklao Road just outside the walls of Chiang Mai's Old City, this terrace restaurant draws a mix of tourists and locals looking for a relaxed meal without the noise of the city's busier dining strips. The venue operates as both a restaurant and a casual social space, with an elevated terrace setting that offers a step back from street-level activity. The Thai dishes are where the kitchen clearly excels. Reviewers single out the fried beef rice for its wok hei and the seafood salad as solid choices, and several visitors have returned for multiple meals. The menu also includes pizza, though multiple guests have found it disappointing — it is worth sticking to the Thai side of the menu for the most satisfying experience. Service is generally noted as quick and attentive. Good to know: Opening hours are not listed online, so it is worth checking social media or calling ahead before making the trip, especially for an evening visit. The Prapokklao Road location is walkable from most Old City accommodation and pairs well with a day of temple-visiting in the area. First-time visitors are better served ordering from the Thai menu rather than the Western options.

Visitor Reviews
STRONG RECOMMEND!!!WAY MUCH BETTER THAN those restaurants that influencers recommended. fried beef rice tastes really good, not too greasy, but with fully wok hei. Seafood salad also tastes good, with fresh squid, shrimps, good for the hot summer!
We ate here twice and both times food was very tasty. We enjoyed the place as well
After a long day visiting temples in Chiang Rai, we laughed pizza. Did a Google search and this came up wow high and read on our way back to the hotel. Service was quick and good only took a few minutes. While food was tasty, these were not fresh made pizza bases. Still tasty nonetheless. 4 pizzas and 4 Changs, £11 each bargain.
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
