The Green Bridge, Lumphini-Benchakitti Park (Lumphini Side)
The Green Bridge serves as a direct pedestrian connection between Lumphini Park and Benchakitti Park, two of Bangkok's most significant urban green spaces. The bridge passes over a constructed wetland area between the parks, creating a continuous green corridor that allows visitors to walk between both sides without navigating city streets. It offers elevated vantage points over the surrounding parkland, lake views, and a glimpse into a quieter, nature-focused side of central Bangkok. Visitors can expect a relaxed, open-air atmosphere popular with locals jogging, cycling, and taking leisurely walks. The wetland below the bridge adds genuine ecological interest, and the elevated perspective gives photographers and casual walkers alike a different way to experience the park's landscape. Reviews note the bridge works well as a practical crossing point and a pleasant walk in its own right, with the surrounding greenery offering a noticeable contrast to the city's density. Good to know: As of early 2026, some sections of the bridge and surrounding landscaping were still under construction, with incomplete planting beds and occasional litter reported by visitors. It is worth checking current conditions before making it a centrepiece of your visit. Early mornings offer the coolest temperatures and the most activity from locals. The cooler months of November through February are the most comfortable for extended time outdoors. No booking or entry fee is required — arrive during daylight hours and wear comfortable walking shoes.

*see @megsandalex IG for more Bangkok tips!* If you’re staying near one of Bangkok’s parks and reading this, then you’re probably looking to cross between both Lumpini & Benchakiti park! This bridge is situated just outside Lumpini park and will take across and into Benchakiti park. People call it the ‘Green Mile’ and is a great walk that takes you to the sky walk in Benchakiti. TOP TIP: along the green mile section there are small shops with pulley systems so they can send a drink up to you! Also go in the morning for best temperature and avoiding the heat of the day!
Due to the large earthquake in Bangkok (28/3/2025) Traffic was jammed, BTS and MRT were both cancelled. I had to walk back home 13 kilometre. This location that I never pass before. I think it is so amazing that Bangkok has the lane that we can run and exercise that such very long range. Nice in view and small local shop nearby. Many photographer also like to take photo around here too.
Still some construction work going on. But an absolutely great idea to connect the two main parks and leave the space between to nature, construct a wetland, very nice and easy to visit. One of the best things that happened in town during later years!
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
