Asiatique Ferry Service to Sathon Pier
This complimentary ferry service connects Asiatique, Bangkok's large riverside shopping and entertainment complex, directly to Sathon Pier near Saphan Taksin BTS station. For visitors spending time at Asiatique, it provides a straightforward way to return to central Bangkok without navigating the city's notoriously congested roads. The route runs along the Chao Phraya River, and the crossing itself is relatively brief. In practice, the experience is functional rather than leisurely. Visitors report that the ferry can get very crowded, and the boarding area is not always easy to locate within the Asiatique complex. The pier is situated near a wine bar called Wine I Love You, and a sign marks the boarding point — worth noting before arrival. Despite the crowds and noise, reviewers consistently highlight the convenience and the fact that the service is free. Good to know: The ferry boarding area is not prominently signposted, so allow extra time to find it, particularly during busy evening hours when Asiatique draws large crowds. Arriving early at the pier is advisable to secure a spot, especially on weekends. Once at Sathon Pier, the adjacent Saphan Taksin BTS station makes onward travel to other parts of Bangkok straightforward. Those planning to use this service as part of a broader river exploration may also find hop-on hop-off river pass options worth considering.

Visitor Reviews
Very beautiful modern area. There was a free shuttle from Sathorn Pier near the Saphan Taksin MRT station.
The Ferry Service to this Pier is great you can take an HOP on Off pack and visit various places. This Peir in particular was awesome with Shops and Ride for all age groups. A bit Disappointed with the Giant wheel as the View was not great due to the tainted glasses and The speed was also very slow. Its also a bit expensive at 600 bhat for 10 mins boring ride. Even other attractions are not worth the money
Very loud and crowded and not very clean However, free and convenient You can get on the ferry right in front of the wine I love you place, and I’ve posted the sign that marks it here
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
