Tanyasamui
Tanyasamui is a wellness retreat and health club in the Maret district of Koh Samui, offering a distinctly immersive approach to wellbeing that goes beyond typical spa visits. Set among beautifully maintained grounds adorned with Buddha statues, the property draws visitors seeking genuine restoration — from day guests exploring treatments to those committing to extended programs. Visitors have stayed as long as three weeks for fasting and healing retreats guided by the venue's founder, Tanya, whose hands-on, intuitive approach to holistic health has earned her a loyal following among both residents and travellers. The atmosphere is described by guests as peaceful and spiritually grounding, with the grounds themselves serving as a draw — some locals visit regularly simply to pay respects at the Buddha statue and absorb the calm. The retreat caters to those looking for a meaningful wellness experience rather than a quick massage, with staff noted for their warmth and the teaching approach taken toward healthy lifestyle practices. Good to know: Tanyasamui does not currently list opening hours or specific treatment menus online, so reaching out directly before visiting is strongly recommended, particularly for those interested in multi-day programs or fasting retreats. The Maret location is accessible by taxi or songthaew from most parts of Koh Samui. Given the personalised nature of the programs on offer, booking well in advance is advisable during peak tourist season between December and March.

Visitor Reviews
A tranquil sanctuary created to offer the perfect setting for relaxation, rejuvenation & holistic well-being. This serene retreat, adorned with numerous Buddha statues, provides an ideal space to unwind, recharge and nurture your mind & body. During my 8-days detox program, I managed to loose 3kg. While drinking their Tanya Oil was the most challenging part - it felt unbearable at times - it effectively cleanses your body, leaving you feeling refreshed & revitalised. The staffs are always friendly & supportive, ready to help whenever you have doubts or need assistance. Thank you, Tanya. 🙏
Retreat resort, hotel ,villa So beautiful here 🌳🌿🕊️✨🙏🏻 I didn’t stay at the hotel, but I often visit to pay respect to the Buddha statue since I live nearby. The atmosphere is peaceful and calming — a lovely place to relax and find inner peace. I’ve also joined the fitness center and some activities here. The owner is kind and lovely, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. It truly feels warm and homely every time I visit. 🌿✨
Ended up spending 23 days here, fasting - Tanya has GOD given talents - her ability to tune speak to your higher self and diagnose what is happening within your body is truly amazing / she had found 3 types of cancer within my body and Im shitting them out 😳🥳, she is giving back and being of service in a way not too many people would ever do 🙏😇 💩
Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas
Learn Wat Pho First
Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
