The Royal Place Condominium, Phuket

3.8(232 reviews)

The Royal Place Condominium is a residential complex located in the Ratsada area of Kathu District, Phuket, offering accommodation options for travellers seeking a more local, apartment-style base during their stay. Its position near central Phuket makes it a practical choice for those needing access to the city rather than the beach resort areas, and the complex features 24-hour security and a generally quiet environment despite its proximity to a main road. Guests staying here can expect a self-contained living setup in a mid-rise condominium building. Reviewers note the location and cleanliness as positives, though the complex does not provide internet, so visitors should arrange their own portable Wi-Fi or SIM card in advance. Rooms are typically booked through local agents or brokers rather than a direct online platform, so it is worth exercising caution when selecting an intermediary. Good to know: Prospective guests should be aware that recurring issues with electricity reliability and maintenance have been raised by longer-term residents. If booking for a short stay, confirm current conditions and facilities directly before committing. The complex is listed under lodging rather than a hotel or serviced apartment, so standard hotel services and amenities should not be assumed. Portable Wi-Fi devices are widely available for rent or purchase at Phuket Airport and in town.

Visitor Reviews

We like this place a lots. Great location, Clean place, 24hrs surcurity gurads and quiet even next to high way.Only down site is no Internet provide. You have to get your own wifi pocket Internet. But it's not difficult to get at all. So over all 10/10

I had to look for a room urgently because of visa appointment in Phuket and book the room through the broker/agent in the screenshot. The agent is not very nice, just beware if you are gonna rent the room from her. The room number is 96/394. She is not responsive to my messages and even told me to stop texting her regarding the room, while she is the one responsible for the situation. The aircon stopped working soon after I moved in and informed her immediately but she didn’t respond. Thanks to my Thai Colleagues who called her to get a technician for the aircon, I survived. But even so, it took at least 3/4 days. The agents do not care after they got their shares when you moved in. I have never experienced one like her when I was living in BKK. The room had damages before I moved in and the drain inside the bathroom was not working well because of the uneven surface of the floor. The jurists were quite nice including the Uncle from Tower 1 Entrance. But some security guards from Tower 3 do not care about the environment at all. One young guy only focuses on his phone even when the stray dogs were following the tenants barking at them. The drinking water refill station only works with 1 BAHT coins WHICH NEEDS TO BE TOTALLY NEW. If not, the coins you put inside the machine will be back out of it.

I don’t even want to give this place a single star. If I could leave just a written review without giving any stars, I absolutely would. That’s how frustrating this place is. The maintenance fees are outrageously high, and they don’t even include basic amenities like the gym or the pool. What’s the point of paying so much when residents can’t access anything useful? To make matters worse, after living here peacefully for over a month, my car was suddenly clamped—without warning, without explanation. The rules are unclear, inconsistent, and feel completely arbitrary. It’s confusing, frustrating, and frankly unacceptable. Management? Nowhere to be seen. Communication is poor, issues are ignored, and nothing ever gets properly resolved. It honestly feels more like a money trap than a place to live. To whoever is in charge please, take responsibility and actually manage this place. Residents deserve better than this chaos. Strongly advise others to look elsewhere before considering this condo!!!👎

Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture

Dress Modestly

Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.

Mind Your Feet

Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.

Ask Before Photographing

Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
