Big Buddha Gallery Art
Tucked near the iconic Big Buddha of Phuket, this art gallery and shop offers a worthwhile stop for visitors making the trip up to Chalong. Unlike the typical tourist souvenir stalls found around major landmarks, Big Buddha Gallery Art stands out for its collection of original paintings and Buddhist statues, many of them created by the owner and his wife. The work is handcrafted on-site, giving the pieces a personal authenticity that mass-produced keepsakes cannot replicate. Visitors can expect a mix of offerings, from affordable quick-buy items to more considered original artworks at reasonable prices. The paintings in particular draw praise for their creativity and quality, and the staff are noted for being genuinely friendly and helpful. For those looking to take a larger piece home, the gallery is able to arrange shipping, making it a practical option even for travellers with limited luggage space. As a practical note, opening hours are not confirmed in advance, so it is worth visiting during daylight hours when the surrounding Big Buddha site is active. Some visitors also recommend refraining from photographing the artwork out of respect for the artist's work. The gallery is a fitting complement to the cultural experience of visiting Big Buddha itself and appeals to those who want to bring home something with genuine local craftsmanship behind it.

Visitor Reviews
You don't wanna miss this place if you are going to big buddha in phuket. Arts are very creative and beautiful. Please don't click pictures of the art if you go there as it will not be fair for the artist
Bought a Buddha statue here... Everything is made by the owner (artist) and his wife. The painting i have attached is painted by the owner. The staff was really friendly.
There's a lot of quick stuff aimed at tourists, cheap and cheerful, but also some more interesting art at very fair prices. They will ship, as well.

Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture
Dress Modestly
Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.
Mind Your Feet
Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.
Ask Before Photographing
Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
