Underwater World Pattaya

3.9(14,919 reviews)

Underwater World Pattaya is an indoor aquarium situated along Sukhumvit Road in Bang Lamung, offering visitors a chance to explore Thailand's marine life without heading out to sea. The centrepiece is a 100-metre walk-through underwater tunnel divided into three sections, where sharks, rays, and a variety of colourful fish swim overhead and alongside visitors — an experience that families with children in particular tend to find engaging and memorable. Feeding shows and interactive exhibits add further variety to the visit. It is worth noting that the attraction is relatively compact, and some visitors have reported sections under construction during their visit, which can limit what is available to see on any given day. The main tunnel remains the highlight, and those who manage their expectations accordingly tend to come away satisfied. Ticket prices run around 550 Baht for adults, which some reviewers consider steep if construction is affecting a significant portion of the venue. The aquarium is open every day from 09:00 to 18:00, making it a convenient option for a morning or early afternoon outing. To avoid the busiest periods, visiting on a weekday rather than during weekends is advisable. Visitors who purchase tickets through third-party platforms should bring a printed voucher or be prepared to navigate the redemption process at the counter, as some have encountered friction when presenting digital QR codes alone. Checking the official website before visiting for any updates on construction or temporary closures is a sensible precaution.

A fun and memorable aquarium experience in Pattaya! The 100 m underwater tunnel with sharks, rays, and colorful fish makes you feel like you’re walking under the sea. The feeding shows and interactive zones are especially great for kids and families. If you book tickets online, you can get it cheaper too. Perfect for a relaxed indoor activity, worth visiting in Pattaya.

Underwater World Pattaya is very nice to take your children to. They have a tunnel you can walk through and it’s divided into 3 parts showcasing different types of fish. If you want to avoid the crowds make sure to go there early.

The three main aquariums were pretty cool and it is fun to see the fish overhead when you go through the tunnel. There were a lot of portions under construction and the aquariums didnt have any live coral or plants, which was disappointing. However, there were some large fish that look like they had been there for a long time while there was a couple jellyfish tanks that looked like they were all dead. If you read the board and look at everything, it will take 45 minutes to an hour. Although I liked it, I was also disappointed at the disrepair, lack of live coral and vegetation, and the amount of renovations.

Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture

Dress Modestly

Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.

Mind Your Feet

Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.

Ask Before Photographing

Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
