Pearl of Samui

4.7(104 reviews)

Situated along the quieter north side of Lamai Beach on Koh Samui's Thawi Rat Phakdi Road, Pearl of Samui is a small beachfront resort offering villa-style accommodation for those seeking a relaxed, low-key coastal stay. The property features well-maintained private villas and cottages positioned directly on the beach, making it a practical choice for travellers who want easy sand and sea access without the crowds of busier resort areas. Guests can expect spacious, well-equipped rooms with large bathrooms, a swimming pool with ocean views, and an on-site restaurant. The atmosphere is notably quiet and peaceful, with the beachfront setting providing a genuine sense of retreat. The property is family-friendly and has drawn consistent praise for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and attentive management. The location places guests within a short walk of Lamai's night market and local restaurants, balancing seclusion with convenient access to the neighbourhood's dining and nightlife. Good to know: Some villas face the main road rather than the beach, so it is worth requesting a beachfront villa specifically when booking to avoid unexpected noise at night. The property is well-suited as a base for island-hopping itineraries, sitting conveniently between other popular destinations along the Gulf Coast.

Visitor Reviews

We are a family of 4 and after Railay and before heading to Koh Tao we have spent 3 nights in this beautiful place in Samui. Beautiful lovely cottages in front of the North Side of Lamai Beach. This side is not the best beach part of Lamai but you can reach center and south side very easily by a 5 minutes drive or 15-30 minutes walking (depending on what part of Lamai beach you want to stay) As we have extended our stay, we had the chance to be moved to the beautiful family villa facing the sea. We have enjoyed the nice and clean pool after spending full days at the beach Just 10-15 minutes walking to Lamai center and night market. Despite being close to the main road, rooms were very quiet at night and we could not hear any noise. We have received a very warm welcome from the host that also gave us some clues on the island. Everything is like the pictures. Pearl of Samui IS a PEARL and we would definetely come back here if we’ll visit Samui again.

We really liked the resort overall and the location. We had villa 6 right on the beach for 4 people. The rooms are excellent and equipped with a large bathroom. On one side of the beach, there's a small fishing harbor and something like a workshop. It's not that great. However, there's a jetty that leads to the small island. There's an outdoor gym and a massage pavilion – great. For swimming, you should walk 15-20 minutes toward Lamai. Everything is beautiful there. We really liked the small restaurant in the resort. The owners are exemplary in their commitment to sustainability. The staff were always friendly and accommodating and took care of all our needs.

Great resort, rooms are amazing and staff is so friendly and helpful! Everything was so clean and organized. The pool is great and view of the ocean is nice, the one thing we wish we knew in advance was that during low tide you can’t swim directly in front of the resort on the beach you have to walk down the beach but other than that it is perfect!

Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture

Dress Modestly

Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.

Mind Your Feet

Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.

Ask Before Photographing

Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
