Lad Koh View Point
Perched on elevated terrain in Bo Put, this scenic viewpoint and shrine combines an observation deck experience with the quiet, contemplative atmosphere of a Thai religious site. The elevated position delivers sweeping views across Koh Samui's coastline and the open sea beyond, making it a worthwhile stop for travellers interested in both landscape photography and local culture. A small vendor on site sells drinks and snacks, including coconut ice cream, adding a casual comfort to the visit. Visitors can expect a relatively peaceful environment, with steps and ramps leading down toward the water, benches for sitting, and small shrines dotted around the grounds. The site draws a relaxed mix of sightseers and culture-focused travellers. Evenings are noted by visitors as a particularly appealing time to visit, with the light lending itself well to photography. Those passing through the area find it well suited to a brief stop, while others choose to linger and take in the surroundings at a slower pace. Good to know: No official opening hours are listed, so visiting during daylight hours is advisable. Parking is available but limited, so arriving early or during quieter periods helps avoid congestion. Comfortable shoes are recommended given the steps and uneven terrain, and sun protection is sensible given Thailand's strong UV exposure. Visitors with modest expectations for scale will find this a pleasant addition to a broader tour of the island rather than a standalone destination.

Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture
Dress Modestly
Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.
Mind Your Feet
Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.
Ask Before Photographing
Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
