Birds Caves Wall
Tucked along an unnamed road in Tha Muang district, Birds Caves Wall is an unusual natural formation where clusters of holes and cavities in the rock face serve as nesting sites for birds. Visitors have described the landscape as otherworldly and unlike anything they have seen elsewhere in the region, giving it a quiet, off-the-beaten-path character that appeals to those who enjoy discovering overlooked spots. That said, the experience here comes with caveats worth knowing before making a dedicated trip. Recent visitors report that the site shows signs of neglect — overgrown vegetation, fencing, and litter have diminished what was apparently once a more accessible and impressive attraction. Some travellers have struggled to locate an entrance, and the surrounding area can attract stray dogs. On a positive note, birds are still actively visible emerging from the cave openings, which remains the genuine draw. Birds Caves Wall is best treated as a spontaneous roadside stop rather than a primary destination. It sits open around the clock, so there are no strict visiting hours to plan around. Those driving through Kanchanaburi on their way to other sites in the area may find it worth a brief pause. Wearing sturdy footwear is advisable given the rough terrain, and visitors should be prepared for an unmanicured, self-guided experience with no formal facilities or signage on site.

Visitor Reviews
This is a really unique spot to see, felt like we were on another planet. Nobody else was there when we went & I doubt it ever gets busy. We didn’t stay long but it’s definitely worth the stop if you are already in the area.
Don’t blink or you miss the spot. Pretty cool site . Saw pigeon coming out of tha hole.
Never seen that before but stray dogs and a lot of trash.

Dress Modestly
Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.
Mind Your Feet
Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.
Ask Before Photographing
Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
