The Royal Place 2
Despite its listing under Temples & Culture, The Royal Place 2 is a residential condominium complex located in the Lumphini neighbourhood of Pathum Wan, central Bangkok. Visitor reviews consistently describe it as a long-term rental building with apartment-style units, a pool, gym, and convenient access to nearby amenities including a 7-Eleven and easy cab pickup along Soi Mahatlek Luang 2. The building offers reasonably sized units and a central location that puts residents within reach of Bangkok's broader Pathum Wan district. Those who have stayed note the spacious rooms and good location as highlights, while the pool and gym facilities receive more mixed feedback. Travellers should be aware that this property is not available for short-term holiday rentals. Multiple reviewers note that short-term and Airbnb-style bookings are not permitted, and that checks are conducted at the entrance to enforce this. The Royal Place 2 is suited to those seeking longer-term accommodation arrangements in central Bangkok, not short-stay visitors looking for a hotel or cultural attraction.

Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture
Dress Modestly
Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.
Mind Your Feet
Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.
Ask Before Photographing
Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
