Visitor Reviews
Something Journey Chiang Rai is one of those places where you instantly feel at ease. The environment is beautiful — calm, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of greenery and natural light that makes it perfect for a slow morning or a relaxed lunch. The food is just as enjoyable. Their lunch menu is well-made and flavorful, with dishes that are comforting yet nicely presented. Whether you’re in the mood for Thai classics or café-style plates, everything comes out fresh and satisfying. Pair it with one of their drinks and you’ve got a very pleasant midday break.
Just looking around this area finding some place for chilling with my grandparents and this place doing so well!! The coconut pandan cake tasted so good (not too sweet). I ordered thai tea frappe which also delicious for someone who is Thai tea lover. Atmosphere in this restaurant is so beautiful as it is next to lovely pond and well decorated. Staff also welcomed us so lively and professional. Recommended!!
Really good food. Very tasty Thai food with a twist. I really enjoyed the ambiance and atmosphere. The staff were also very friendly and speak English well. Didn’t need to wait too long for the food, but even if you did need to wait, the surroundings was so beautiful you just walk around and take photos so you wouldn’t really mind. Will definitely come back!

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
