HONG's Sky Bar
Perched atop the InterContinental Chiang Mai on Sridonchai Road, Hong's Sky Bar offers an elevated escape from the city's street-level bustle. Accessed via a dedicated elevator, the rooftop venue draws visitors with sweeping panoramic views across Chiang Mai, a polished atmosphere, and a menu centred on Chinese cuisine and signature cocktails. The space is intimate in scale, with a cosy, traditional aesthetic that reviewers describe as carrying a noticeable Indian-inspired decorative sensibility alongside its refined hotel setting. The food menu leans Chinese, with dishes like cucumber salad earning repeat praise from regulars, while the cocktail list is a consistent highlight. Service is a standout feature, with staff frequently singled out by visitors for being attentive, warm, and professional. That said, those expecting a broad bar menu may find the food selection on the limited side, so it is worth checking the current menu in advance if dining is the primary draw. Good to know: Hong's Sky Bar opens daily at 4 PM and runs until midnight, making it well suited for sundowners or a relaxed evening out. Arriving close to opening time is a practical choice during golden hour, when the city views are at their most atmospheric. Smart casual attire is appropriate given the upscale hotel setting. Reservations can be made through the InterContinental Chiang Mai website, which is advisable on weekends when the compact rooftop space can fill quickly.

Visitor Reviews
I absolutely loved our time at Hong's Rooftop Bar. It is at the top of the InterContinental hotel and you take the elevator specifically for the bar and restaurant. The staff is super friendly and the view is gorgeous. We had a table on the outer edge of the rooftop so we could comfortably lounge and enjoy our drinks while looking out across the city. The cocktails are beautiful and they have a pretty nice wine menu as well. We loved all the appetizers that we got. The cucumber salad is so refreshing and delicious. The vegetable spring rolls are also pretty good. We also got the chicken nuggets which were basically like fast food nuggets. Not bad! Just funny to have gotten them at such a nice rooftop. Would definitely love to come back and highly recommend this spot! Now for my standard comments. Location is very clean and well kept. Seems handicap accessible as well due to the elevator and I do not believe there were any stairs as we made our way around the rooftop.
It was a very great and fancy experience. I like how the staff is very accommodating, always smiling and ready whenever we need them. Especially Earth, Chucky and Tian, their service is excellent. Also big thanks to the bartender for the perfect drinks. We didn’t expect the cake with the greetings, I requested a greeting but not the cake. Thank you so much! The cake is sooo good! Please put it in your menu! I want one on my birthday. Thank you again, and it’s worth it spending our 11th Anniversary here in Hong’s Sky Bar. ♥️
The place is quite small but has a cozy feel. It carries a noticeable Indian-style vibe in its decor and ambiance. The interiors are simple and traditional. Seating space is a little compact. It can feel slightly crowded during busy hours. However, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The setup gives it a homely touch. Cleanliness is properly maintained. It’s a decent spot for a casual visit. Overall, a small yet culturally charming place. ✨

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
