The Artisans Ayutthaya
Tucked into Tambon Ban Run in central Ayutthaya, this Thai restaurant has built a loyal following among both travellers and locals for its careful attention to food quality, plating, and atmosphere. Visitors consistently highlight the beautiful presentation of dishes, fresh ingredients, and a cosy, stylish interior that offers a welcome respite after a day exploring the ancient city's temples and ruins. The menu leans into thoughtful, artisanal cooking with Thai dishes that are well-executed and visually considered. The space is described by visitors as calm and inviting, making it suited to solo travellers looking to unwind as much as to groups seeking a sit-down meal. Service receives particular praise, with staff noted as attentive and the reservation process through Line described as quick and responsive. Good to know: The restaurant operates a slightly unconventional ordering system — diners are asked to place their order at the front desk before being seated, rather than ordering at the table. Some visitors find this unexpected, so it helps to arrive with a rough idea of what you want. Reservations are recommended, especially if visiting on a weekend, and can be made via the restaurant's Line account. The kitchen is open every day of the week from 11:00 to 21:00, covering both lunch and dinner with no weekly closing day.

Visitor Reviews
It was a last minute decision when we decided to go to Ayutthaya and we looked for where to eat, we found The Artisans. We made a reservations via Line and they confirmed right away. When we got there, they took our order first and then they had us seated. We wanted to sit by the river but they said it is too hot outside so we just obeyed. We ordered the wagyu curry with fan leaves (I wasnt sure what that was until I googled it is cannabis) and the shrimp salad. Both were a little spicy for our liking but we couldn’t do anything about it since we already ordered, I guess we should have asked while ordering. Both of which is good. For dessert, we just want mango sticky rice. The sticky rice was warm and the mango is ripe. For the price point, we would appreciate a little more conversation about what we ordered and not just putting it on the table. When we checked out, the seats outside as we were walking out, we saw some people sitting there. Would have been nice to have that option, we really wanted to sit outside. Aesthetic of the place is stunning. The plates and food presentation is instagrammable. Flavor wise, it was flavorful but the heat of the food took away the flavor and all we can taste is the heat.
Loved this place! I stopped by Artisan Ayutthaya during my trip and totally fell in love with the vibe. The space is beautiful calm, stylish, and perfect for chilling after exploring the city. The food was amazing, well balanced, and they were so fresh and delicious. Staff were friendly and welcoming too. Definitely one of the best restaurants that I’ve been to in Ayutthaya. Can’t wait to come back.
Nothing was disappointing. Every dish was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The attention to detail, from the fresh ingredients to the stunning plating, made the whole experience feel truly special. Definitely worth the value.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
