Pannana Cafe and Eatery พรรณนา
Sitting along Thanon Uthong in Ayutthaya's Pratuchai area, Pannana Cafe and Eatery is a Thai cafe-style restaurant that draws both locals and tourists exploring the ancient capital's UNESCO World Heritage temples. The riverside setting is a standout feature — diners can eat while watching the flowing river, adding a relaxed, unhurried quality to the experience that reviewers consistently highlight alongside the quality of the food itself. The menu spans Thai dishes and beverages, with staff noted for their willingness to make recommendations. Visitors describe generous, well-seasoned portions and good value for money, while the cafe atmosphere keeps things informal and comfortable. Cocktails are also on offer for those wanting something beyond the Thai beverage menu. The space is reported to be clean throughout, including restrooms, and the setting lends itself to photography as much as dining. Pannana is open every day from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, making it a practical option whether you are finishing a morning of temple visits or winding down in the evening. The restaurant has a small car park on site, which is useful for those driving from Bangkok or nearby areas — a journey some visitors make specifically for this stop. As it has featured in television coverage and attracts a steady crowd, arriving outside of peak weekend lunch hours may help secure a table without a long wait.

Visitor Reviews
This is the place that we followed the reviews and agreed. There are varieties of food and drinks. The staff were helpful to recommend the nice dishes and drinks. They all tasted great. The prices are reasonable so highly recommended if you’re interested in nice food by the river.
The Food here is some of the best I’ve had here in Thailand, the seasoning was on point and we ate so much we could barely move, the staff were super kind and generous this is genuinely a must visit and eat if you are ever in the area. 10000% recommended
Relaxing to be eating watching the flowing river. Clean restrooms and restaurants, very nice food. Cocktails looks amazing, sorry I can’t comment I didn’t have one

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
