Moakmai Cafe & Restaurant
Moakmai Cafe & Restaurant is a fusion dining destination in Ayutthaya's Uthai district that blends Italian-inspired cooking with Thai flavours across a sprawling garden complex. The centrepiece of the kitchen is a wood-fired oven, which produces the restaurant's signature pizzas alongside a menu that spans Thai dishes and Western options. The setting strikes a balance between a modern, well-appointed interior and a large outdoor garden area, giving visitors the choice between a casual al fresco experience and a more comfortable indoor environment. The atmosphere leans relaxed and spacious, making it a practical stop for travellers moving between Ayutthaya and Bangkok. Visitors consistently praise the Thai dishes as well-seasoned and genuinely spiced, while the bakery selection adds another reason to linger. The pizzas draw the most attention and, though some reviewers note they differ from strictly traditional Italian standards, most find them a cut above comparable options in the area. The broad menu and generous space mean it suits both a quick coffee break and a longer meal. Moakmai is closed on Mondays, opening at 11:00 Tuesday through Friday and at 10:00 on weekends, with the kitchen running until 22:00 all days. The garden is worth exploring even for those stopping only for drinks. Pricing sits at a mid-range level, and the Facebook page listed on their profile is the most reliable source for current menu updates and any changes to hours.

Visitor Reviews
Great food, good atmosphere. The food is great, both Thai and Western Pizza may not be like 100% Italian but it's better than other places. Thai food is good, spicy and tasty as it should be. Bakery is also good. The place is decorated and landscaped as in the forest with artificial waterfall, lots of shade and very green. There are both seatings outdoors and in air-conditioned room. Service is good, price is quite upscale, though. Lots of parking.
A great stop heading into Bangkok. The restaurant has a natural outdoor vibe with a modern indoor decor. The food is well made and the service is efficient during the busy shifts.
Late January 2026 Italian fusion inspired cafe and restaurant with a large garden complex. With their wood fired oven their specialty is the pizza however they do stillserve some of the local Thai dishes as well as some fusion dishes. Serving sizes at typically generous. Menu is updated to current trends. Service is well adapted to tourists and are very attentive. The place is modern with ample lighting. A large outdoor seating and garden is also accessible. Toilets are shared just at the entrance way. Ideal for meetings and large groups.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
