Burinda
Tucked into a restaurant strip in the Tha Wa Sukhri subdistrict of Ayutthaya, Burinda stands out among its neighbours for offering honest Thai food at noticeably fairer prices than many nearby competitors. Dishes like pad see ew, papaya salad, spring rolls, and mango sticky rice feature among visitor favourites, and the menu offers a solid selection to suit most tastes. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, with a friendly owner who contributes to the welcoming feel of the place. Opinions among visitors are generally positive, though experiences can vary. Many diners praise the food as flavourful and excellent value, while some note that wait times can stretch during busy periods and the cooking occasionally leans toward the milder end. For travellers eating on a budget in Ayutthaya, it represents a practical and satisfying choice compared to the pricier tourist-oriented restaurants on the same strip. Good to know: Burinda opens at 10:00 AM and closes at 9:00 PM every day of the week, making it convenient for both lunch breaks during temple visits and evening meals. The location in Tha Wa Sukhri puts it within easy reach of Ayutthaya's main historical sites. No website is available, so reservations are not possible in advance — arriving outside of peak lunch and dinner hours should help reduce any wait.

Visitor Reviews
It was a recommendation on a travelers blog and it didn't disappoint! Our food was so good! I started with Pad see ew and because of the great taste, I ordered spring rolls as an extra and mango sticky rice as dessert.
Really enjoyed the Papaya Salade! Owner is very friendly, and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!
Excellent value for money restaurant. The food is superb. Good selection of dishes.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
