ทวียนต์ Chiang Rai Mall
Despite its mall signage, Thaweeyont Chiang Rai Mall is primarily a large-format electronics and home appliances retailer rather than a general shopping centre. The store specialises in consumer electronics including televisions, hi-fi audio systems, home theatre setups, mobile phones, and computers, alongside major home appliances such as washing machines and refrigerators. Electric and gasoline motorcycles are also stocked, making it a one-stop shop for household and lifestyle purchases rather than fashion or casual retail. Visitors should be aware that the store is oriented strongly toward local residents making considered purchases, and tourists browsing for souvenirs or clothing will find little of interest here. The interior is spacious, with large floor areas dedicated to appliance displays, though some sections can feel sparse. The atmosphere is functional rather than entertaining, and the product range reflects the needs of a regional home goods market. Good to know: Thaweeyont is open seven days a week from 9am to 6pm, so hours are not a limiting factor. However, travellers expecting a typical Thai shopping mall experience with food courts, boutiques, and entertainment should plan their time elsewhere — Chiang Rai's Night Bazaar or Central Plaza Chiang Rai are better suited for that purpose. This store is most useful for visitors who need to purchase electronics or household items during an extended stay in the region.

Visitor Reviews
A place to buy your HiFi audio system, TV, gasoline or electric motorcycle, electronic devices such as mobile phones, computers, home theaters, and so on. It's a place to buy audio equipment, televisions, gasoline or electric motorcycles, mobile phones, computers, TVs, audio systems, and other household appliances.
I was attracted by the shopping mall sign and decided to go in, but it was filled with rows of large home appliances that tourists have no access to. There was a lot of empty space inside the store, so it seemed like it would continue to grow even bigger.
Lovely place lovely people.

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
