Visitor Reviews
Great budget hotel just down from the clock tower. Lots of parking. Only issue is the inter room noise
Overall experience: Great location and great room, but the service is just okay. Pro(s): • It is walking distance to the night market, convenience store, and eating and drinking spots • The room and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable Con(s): • Idk if the receptionists were properly trained since they are not really warm and welcoming • You only get 2 free water bottles per day. 1 bottle of water succeeding that is THB 10 (not really much of a con)
Worst stay ever Dishonest staff and terrible room condition. have stayed in many budget hotels, but this is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. I strongly recommend staying elsewhere. 1. Dishonest Pricing & Rude Service: I called 30 minutes before arrival and was quoted 830 THB. Upon arrival, the staff claimed the price had changed to 860 THB. When I mentioned the phone call, the receptionist rudely told me, 'Just book it online yourself then, maybe you'll get 830.' Unbelievable lack of professionalism. 2. Zero Soundproofing: The walls are paper-thin. I can hear every single thing from the neighboring room, even the sound of them clicking their light switches. It’s impossible to have any privacy or a quiet night's sleep. 3. Poor Maintenance: The room is dirty. The air conditioner compressor is extremely loud, making a constant rattling noise. To top it off, the TV is broken—it shows 'No Signal,' and I couldn't even turn it off with the remote. I had to physically unplug it just to get some darkness. Do yourself a favor and find another hotel in Chiang Rai. This place is poorly managed, dirty, and noisy. Not worth a single baht.

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
