Talad Nawang Chantharakasem
Tucked along Thanon Uthong in the Hua Ro area, this small evening market sits in a historically significant spot between the Chao Phraya River and the Chantharakasem Palace grounds. It draws a predominantly local crowd each evening, offering a low-key alternative to Ayutthaya's more tourist-oriented attractions and a genuine sense of how residents spend their evenings. Food is the main draw here. Visitors regularly return for the grilled meatballs sold near the entrance, with two competing shops on either side drawing loyal regulars. Beyond meatballs, the market offers mixed noodle dishes, seafood, sticky rice, and other Thai street food staples at local prices. A handful of stalls selling small fashion items and accessories round out the shopping, and street performers occasionally add a lively soundtrack to the experience. It is a compact space, so expectations should be set accordingly — this is a neighbourhood market rather than a large night bazaar. Good to know: The market runs every day of the week from 4pm to 11pm, making it easy to fold into an evening itinerary after a day at Ayutthaya's temples. At weekends, the surrounding area also hosts a daytime junk and secondhand market until around 2pm, which may appeal to those who enjoy browsing curios. Cash is strongly recommended, as most vendors are unlikely to accept card payments.

Visitor Reviews
I didn't take any photos there. Quite small local market. You can find some small local fashion, food and drink. Street singer performances there as well. I bought mix noodles seafood. Sticky rice cooked coconut (quite sweet for me). You can try to walk around! Cheap price!
Always drop by to get grilled meat balls back home. The dipping sauce is also juicy and creamy. There two great meatball shops. Each shop is located on different side of the entrance.

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
