Market Ayuttaya Municipality
Situated on Thanon Uthong in the heart of Ayutthaya Municipality, this weekend market is primarily a street food destination, drawing locals and visitors alike with its wide spread of affordable Thai dishes and a notably strong selection of halal stalls. Reviewers consistently highlight the food as the main draw, with prices that compare favourably to larger markets in Bangkok, making it a practical stop for travellers watching their budget. The atmosphere is lively and genuine, with vendors serving up a range of Thai street food in an everyday local setting rather than a tourist-polished environment. Several stalls offer seating, though space can be limited, so many visitors eat standing or on the move. The market also sits conveniently close to Ayutthaya's riverside, and some visitors arrive directly from sunset boat rides along the Chao Phraya, adding a relaxed, unhurried quality to the experience. Good to know: the market operates on Saturdays and Sundays only, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Arriving in the morning gives the best access to a full spread of stalls before vendors begin packing down. Those with dietary requirements will find the halal food options here more plentiful than at many comparable markets in the region.

Visitor Reviews
We were given the opportunity to dine here after a nice and relaxing sunset boat ride. There are plenty of affordable and great halal food sold here. Some stalls have seating areas, but most don't, so it's good to walk around the market to get whatever you'd like to supplement your meal before settling down on a sit in stall, ordering food from there as well of course.
You can find any Thailand street food there with cheaper price than at bangkok's night market
The bow on the surface is especially delicious. I recommend everyone to look at it.

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
