S3 Ayutthaya
Situated in Tambon Khlong Suan Plu, this relatively new hotel offers a base for travellers visiting Ayutthaya's UNESCO World Heritage-listed temple complexes and riverside ruins. The property features a swimming pool surrounded by the restaurant building, multiple accommodation buildings, and rooms that open directly to outdoor areas — a layout that gives it a resort-like feel uncommon at this price point in the region. Rooms are clean and functional, and the hotel benefits from ample on-site parking, which is a genuine practical advantage in Ayutthaya. That said, the location sits away from the main tourist and dining areas, meaning a car or motorbike rental is effectively necessary for getting around. Guests have noted that room soundproofing is limited and that air conditioning can struggle during the hottest parts of the day, so those travelling in the warmer months should factor this in. Reception experiences have been mixed according to recent visitors, which is worth keeping in mind when planning arrivals or making special requests. Good to know: The hotel's remote position relative to Ayutthaya's central attractions makes personal transport essential — this suits self-driving travellers or those hiring a vehicle, but may be inconvenient for those relying on tuk-tuks or on-foot exploration. Booking directly through the hotel's website at myroomth.com may offer better rates than third-party platforms. Ayutthaya's cool season, running from November to February, remains the most comfortable time to visit and coincides with peak demand, so early booking is advisable.

Visitor Reviews
Clean room but housekeeping still forgot previous guest amenity used. Not a good shower design, Shower facing the light behind the mirror, it’s too bright. Air con not cool during the day.
A new hotel with a great location and plenty of parking The hotel is new, and the restaurant building is surrounded by a swimming pool. There are multiple buildings, including rooms that open directly to the pool. The reception is separated from the guest area, and there’s a deposit of 300 THB per keycard. Parking is abundant, both under the buildings and outdoors, which is convenient for large groups of travelers. The room is compact but functional, with a vanity table, one chair, a small refrigerator, and a very comfortable bed and pillows. There’s also a balcony. The bathroom has a slightly lowered shower area to keep the water from flowing out. Small bottles of soap and shampoo are provided. However, there seems to be a strong fragrance used in the bathroom—so strong that it irritated my throat. The air-conditioning fan was also quite loud, and the bathroom door opens inward, causing it to close tightly against the room. We went swimming around 6:00 PM. There were a few kids playing, around 3–4 people, but the pool is quite narrow and divided into shallow and deep areas, making it less enjoyable to swim laps. There were no staff on duty at the pool. Even though there were rules posted, some guests still swam without proper swimwear. The poolside area has showers and toilets, but it really needs a proper changing room because guests end up walking back to the building while still wet, making everything messy.
The room and location were perfect, and we truly enjoyed our stay. However, I would like to share some feedback regarding our experience with the reception staff. During check-in on 20Feb26, we had an uncomfortable experience. Our friend had already checked in on our behalf, and we were looking for the key card at the lobby. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a misunderstanding, as the staff thought we were trying to check in under a different name. The situation was not fully clarified, and our friend was contacted in a tone that felt somewhat unfriendly. This made us feel uncomfortable, especially as we were not aware of the hotel’s specific policies. We believe that with a bit more patience and understanding, the situation could have been handled more smoothly through clearer communication. That said, we would like to sincerely thank the female staff member who helped improve the situation. She demonstrated excellent service and professionalism, and we truly appreciated her assistance. Thank you for taking our feedback into consideration.
Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
