Ruen Tubtim resort
Compare prices
Tucked along the river in Ayutthaya's Hua Ro area, Ruen Tubtim is a traditional Thai-style guesthouse that offers a genuinely unhurried escape from the pace of sightseeing. The property's warmly decorated rooms, authentic Thai architecture, and well-maintained grounds create an atmosphere that guests consistently describe as peaceful and unlike a conventional hotel — somewhere that feels both deeply local and refreshingly removed from the outside world. Arriving by boat is an option, with the property offering moorings for guests who make the journey that way. The food at Ruen Tubtim is a standout reason to stay. The on-site restaurant serves authentic Thai cuisine made with real herbs and traditional techniques, earning strong praise from guests for its aroma, flavour, and overall quality. Free breakfast is included with accommodation, adding practical value to what is already a memorable stay. Rooms are quiet and well-kept, though some guests have noted that window curtains offer limited coverage, which is worth knowing if you are a light sleeper or sensitive to the early morning tropical sun. The resort is open daily from 09:00 to 20:00, and reaching it can be a challenge without prior knowledge of the area — calling the hotel in advance for directions is recommended, particularly for first-time visitors arriving by road. Given its relaxed pace and intimate setting, Ruen Tubtim suits travellers looking for a slower, more atmospheric base after a day exploring Ayutthaya's historic temples and ruins.

Visitor Reviews
Amazing hotel for those wanting something unique, slow, and relaxing. It's the perfect vibes for after a day of sightseeing of Ayutthaya. The food at the restaurant is top notch quality Thai food! Staff have been lovely and helpful (thanks for all of the boat trips to the pier)! The garden is lovely as well! Perfect for morning coffee, sunset or a meal. Perfect place to stay on a short get away from Bangkok! Worth it.
Food here is very delicious, full aroma and tasty flavour with real authentic Thai herbs. It is a great and superb experience for us. We really enjoyed the time during our stay. We will be back again. Love the scenery and the boat trip to the resort. If you like an amazing scenery with 5 stars food, I really recommend this place. It is a hidden gem!!!
What a lovely place! A genuine Thai style living experience. The authentic Thai-style house was well maintained and exceptionally clean. Do not miss the food—it’s one of many highlights of staying here, especially when you enjoy it by beautiful view of the river... Warm hospitality—from owner, staff to the dogs! (one pictured in photo

Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
