Bang Phra Reservoir No Hunting Wildlife Area
Bang Phra Reservoir No Hunting Wildlife Area is a nature preserve and protected park in Si Racha District, roughly an hour's drive from central Pattaya. The no-hunting designation creates a sheltered habitat where local bird species and wildlife can move freely, making it a worthwhile stop for birdwatchers, wildlife photographers, and anyone looking to spend time outdoors away from the busier coastal attractions of the region. Visitors can walk trails around the reservoir, observe birds, and camp overnight in a quiet, largely undeveloped setting. The atmosphere is peaceful, though facilities are basic — there are no hot showers, and amenities are limited. Note that parts of the area have been fenced off in recent years, apparently to support wildlife rehabilitation efforts, so the accessible zones may be smaller than older accounts suggest. The site is open around the clock, which suits campers and early-morning birdwatchers alike. Entry fees apply — currently reported at around 400 baht per person for foreign visitors — which some visitors have found steep relative to what is on offer, particularly given that similar forest surroundings exist nearby. It is worth factoring this into expectations before visiting. Early morning remains the best time for birdwatching and hiking, when temperatures are cooler and wildlife is most active. Bring water, insect repellent, and appropriate footwear, as the terrain involves uneven paths and the humidity can be considerable. This destination suits nature-oriented travellers prepared for a simple, self-sufficient outing rather than a polished tourist experience.

Visitor Reviews
Very good camping place quiet peaceful ,no hot shower. many place to visit around this area
They've restricted most of the area I used to bird watch in to help abandoned wildlife? They told me nothing about why there is this giant new fence or what species they were trying to help protect. I doubt I'll visit again.
Good for bird photography here and hiking around reservoir

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
