Namtok Pha Suea - Tham Pla National Park
Part of the same national park system as the nearby Tham Pla Fish Cave, Namtok Pha Suea offers a quick and accessible glimpse of a forested waterfall without requiring any significant hiking. The falls sit close to the road, making this a convenient stop for travellers passing through the Mae Hong Son region rather than a destination in its own right. Visitors can expect a short, easy walk to a viewing platform, though the path leading directly to the waterfall is currently closed and overgrown, limiting how close you can get. Swimming is not permitted. The site has a recently built visitor office with a coffee shop and toilet facilities on-site. The waterfall is most impressive during the rainy season, roughly June through October, when water levels are at their highest. Practically speaking, the entrance fee is 100 baht per person, and those who have already purchased a ticket for the Fish Cave should be able to use the same ticket here, as both attractions fall under the same national park. It is worth noting that some facilities, including water access, have been subject to temporary closures with little advance notice or signage, so it is advisable to check current conditions before making a dedicated trip. The entrance is easy to miss from the road, so watch for the office close to the roadside and be prepared to turn in quickly.

Visitor Reviews
Cool little waterfall, no hiking to it as it's right off the road. I was there alone so it made it better, there's no swimming allowed.
The office is brand new, there is a coffee shop and toilets. The office is just next to the road so be ready to turn in otherwise you miss it. You can not swim sadly in the waterfall just take some pictures and move on. You can use the same ticket from the fish cave and the Royal National park. So please visit them in one day you pay 200 thb as no Thai and 20 thb for 3 places. It has water most seasons it is pretty waterfall for a few selfies. The office close around 17.30 do not come to late.
We were just passing by and decided to take a look. We are in august - rainy season- there is a lot od water! Very short walk to the fall. Did not find fish cave, the lady at the chashier was not helpful at all:(
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
