Rice x De Pier

4.5(1,180 reviews)$$$$

Tucked beside the pier in Bo Put's Fisherman's Village, this Italian restaurant opens up to an unobstructed oceanfront view that belies its low-key street entrance. Guests can watch pizzas being fed into a stone-fired oven from their seats, making the kitchen as much a part of the atmosphere as the water views beyond. The setting draws couples and small groups looking for a scenic, unhurried evening without the noise of Koh Samui's busier stretches of coastline. The menu focuses on Italian classics, with pasta and bruschetta consistently praised by visitors. The cocktail selection earns particular attention in guest reviews and stands out as a highlight in its own right. Service is a recurring theme across visitor feedback, with staff noted for being warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout the meal. Good to know: Bo Put's Fisherman's Village hosts a walking street market on Friday evenings, which brings noticeably more foot traffic and vehicles to the surrounding area — worth factoring in when planning transport. Given the restaurant's popularity and waterfront position, arriving early or booking ahead for evening sittings is advisable, especially during peak season between December and March.

Visitor Reviews

We had a wonderful experience, and a big part of that was thanks to Tum. She provided absolutely excellent service from start to finish. She was friendly, attentive, and always had a warm smile. Tum made sure everything was perfect and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The food was also absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Everything we ordered was very tasty and exceeded our expectations. It’s rare to receive such genuinely kind and professional service combined with such great food. Thank you, Tum — we will definitely come back!

Loved this Italian Restaurant in Fisherman’s Village looking out onto the beach. The entry is quietly low key but you can watch pizzas go into the stone fire oven. The hostess was so gracious and welcoming. Nice vibe!! Background music was perfect volume. Lighting set a relaxing ambiance. Big menu with good variety of Italian food including steaks, lobster and some Thai dishes. We had a burrata pizza, pasta bolognese and pasta Aglio Olio all of which had so much flavor, they were Delicious! Portion size was enough to fill you up. We will definitely go back for more!!

Beautiful restaurant overlooking the ocean in Fisherman’s Village. Food was delicious. We both went for pasta which was excellent and the mixed bruschetta was very nice. Great selection of cocktails - Moscow Mule made properly with fresh lime and served in copper tankard as it should be. The Negroni was also very nice. Service was first class and Tum was an excellent host. I also enjoyed the music played in the restaurant. Highly recommend

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide

These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
