Rice x De Pier

4.5(1,180 reviews)$$$$

Perched beside the pier in Koh Samui's Fisherman's Village, this Italian restaurant offers an atmospheric dining experience where guests can watch pizzas slide into a stone-fired oven while looking out over the beach. The setting is quietly understated from the street, but opens up to a beautiful oceanfront view that makes it a popular choice for a relaxed evening meal in Bo Put. The menu leans into Italian classics, with pasta dishes and bruschetta drawing consistent praise from visitors. The cocktail selection is a particular highlight, earning its own dedicated mentions in guest reviews. Service is frequently noted as warm and attentive, contributing to the overall experience as much as the food and setting. The atmosphere suits couples and small groups looking for a scenic dinner without the noise of Koh Samui's busier beach strips. Good to know: Bo Put's Fisherman's Village has a lively walking street market on Friday evenings, which can make the surrounding area busier than usual — worth considering both when planning a visit and when arranging transport back. Given the waterfront location and the restaurant's popularity, arriving early or booking ahead for evening sittings is advisable, particularly during peak season between December and March.

We had a wonderful experience, and a big part of that was thanks to Tum. She provided absolutely excellent service from start to finish. She was friendly, attentive, and always had a warm smile. Tum made sure everything was perfect and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The food was also absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Everything we ordered was very tasty and exceeded our expectations. It’s rare to receive such genuinely kind and professional service combined with such great food. Thank you, Tum — we will definitely come back!

Loved this Italian Restaurant in Fisherman’s Village looking out onto the beach. The entry is quietly low key but you can watch pizzas go into the stone fire oven. The hostess was so gracious and welcoming. Nice vibe!! Background music was perfect volume. Lighting set a relaxing ambiance. Big menu with good variety of Italian food including steaks, lobster and some Thai dishes. We had a burrata pizza, pasta bolognese and pasta Aglio Olio all of which had so much flavor, they were Delicious! Portion size was enough to fill you up. We will definitely go back for more!!

Beautiful restaurant overlooking the ocean in Fisherman’s Village. Food was delicious. We both went for pasta which was excellent and the mixed bruschetta was very nice. Great selection of cocktails - Moscow Mule made properly with fresh lime and served in copper tankard as it should be. The Negroni was also very nice. Service was first class and Tum was an excellent host. I also enjoyed the music played in the restaurant. Highly recommend

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide

These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
