River Kwai Village Hotel
Set along the banks of the River Kwai in Kanchanaburi's Sai Yok district, River Kwai Village Hotel is a resort property offering riverfront rooms with direct views over the river and surrounding jungle. The setting makes it a practical base for travellers wanting both comfort and proximity to the region's natural and historical landscapes, with activity packages available on-site that include onsen hot spring facilities for those looking to balance exploration with relaxation. The resort suits group travel particularly well, with spacious rooms, multiple swimming pools, and a scenic riverfront atmosphere that guests consistently highlight. Staff are noted for being polite and attentive, and the immediate access to nature adds to the appeal for those seeking an escape from busier destinations. That said, pool maintenance has been flagged as inconsistent by some visitors, so it is worth checking current conditions on arrival. Good to know: The hotel regularly hosts large groups and events, which can affect room availability and occasionally cause booking system complications. Always confirm your intended dates directly with the property before finalising any reservation, and clarify what is included in activity packages ahead of time. The November to February period offers the most comfortable conditions for visiting the region, with cooler temperatures and lower humidity making river-based and outdoor activities considerably more enjoyable.

We came here with a big group of friends and stay here for 2 nights. The hotel located next to River Kwai and from the room we had a very nice view of River and nature surrounded. The room was large but the bed was extra large and comfy. The bath room was nice and large. The staff were nice and helpful particularly at the restaurant. The breakfast was very good with varieties of food. The swimming pool though not modern but large and clean. Very good place to stay.
I spent my vacation time on this hotel with my friends. The resort have more package activity to use the time together and package onsen hot spring for relax healthy. The room clean and comfort. Service is good. Food both breakfast and dinner are good too. Location is good for travel to hotel. Hotel has more big trees for relax my eye. Overall I happy to stay here.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
