Wat Khao Krailart
Perched on elevated ground in the Nong Kae area of Hua Hin, this active Buddhist temple offers a compelling mix of spiritual atmosphere, traditional architecture, and natural beauty. The grounds are home to a reclining white Buddha statue, a standing golden Buddha, and numerous smaller shrines spread across a well-maintained hillside. A hidden highlight is the mangrove path to the right of the entrance, which winds through lush greenery alongside the sound of running water — a tranquil detour that many visitors rate as a standout part of the experience. The temple grounds reward unhurried exploration. Multiple smaller temple buildings are scattered across the site, connected by pathways lined with flowering plants and water features. From the higher points, panoramic views stretch across the surrounding landscape and out toward the coastline, which visitors note would be particularly striking at sunrise. The atmosphere throughout is calm and contemplative, drawing both Buddhist devotees and travellers seeking a quieter, more authentic side of Hua Hin beyond the beach. Good to know: The temple is open daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The hilltop location involves a set of stairs from the entrance, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. As with all active Buddhist temples in Thailand, visitors should dress respectfully with shoulders and knees covered. Visiting on a weekday or during the cooler morning hours will help avoid both the heat and any weekend crowds. Parking is available on site.

Wonderful and peaceful temple with lying white Buddha statue, and a standing golden Buddha and many other smaller statues. Lots of steps and smaller temple buildings to roam around. After the initial 200-300 steps up (3-5 mins steep climb) it’s not that much more and not a huge place. It feels peaceful especially before sunset, with all the greenery and flowers and being on top of the world. Very nice views back to the mountains to see the sunset.
Place straight up from another century, with breathtaking artistry, nature and peace. I truly suggest to take the mangrove path! It's on your right at the entrance, and you can walk it all and admire all kind of birds. It ends with a huge rock and some stairs to climb, up to the top of this hill with beautiful small and big temples, wooden houses and viewpoints. It's also a very good place to come to pray in the morning.

Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture
Dress Modestly
Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.
Mind Your Feet
Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.
Ask Before Photographing
Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
