Come for the tea, stay for the cake and the view over the terraces. This is a genuine working plantation in Mae Chan, north of Chiang Rai, and the hillsides of clipped green rows are the reason most people make the drive. The cafes sit high enough to look out over all of it, which is why nobody rushes their iced jasmine oolong.
Tastings of the estate's teas are free, and the shop is where you'll want to spend your money: oolongs, and the osmanthus flower blend that keeps coming up in reviews. The food gets as much praise as the tea, so don't treat the restaurant as an afterthought. Popular dishes and certain teas sell out by mid-morning, so early is better. Beyond the main terrace there's a walk up to small lakes that's worth the legs. Give it two hours minimum. Wear shoes you can handle uneven ground in, and bring sun cover.

Stunning views and a great ride! This tea plantation is absolutely beautiful and 100% worth the visit. The Drive: If you’re coming by motorbike, you’re in for a treat! The serpentine roads leading up here are so much fun to ride, offering great leans and even better views along the way. The Vibe: Once you reach the top, the scenery is breathtaking. It’s the perfect spot to snap some photos and soak in the greenery. The Café: There’s a lovely café at the summit where you can do a tea tasting. Nothing beats sipping fresh local tea while looking out over the endless rows of tea bushes. Highly recommend this as a half-day trip for anyone who loves great views and a fun drive!
Lovely place. Can easily spend few hours here so plan accordingly. Do walk up to the little lakes, it's beautiful. We got some oolong tea for home, the osmanthus flower infused one. Unfortunately for food and drinks they do not accept card, only cash. So we could try limited stuff and all of those were nice. Especially the brown sugar bubble green tea.
On our way back from Chiang Saen to Chiang Rai we visit the Choui Fong Tea Plantation. What a great place.
