Suvannabhumi Art Gallery (new location)
Tucked along Huay Kaew Road within easy walking distance of MAYA shopping centre, this intimate gallery occupies a dedicated space for cross-cultural artistic exchange between Thailand and neighbouring Myanmar. It operates as a genuine platform for regional voices, regularly hosting exhibitions by Burmese and Thai artists — including works by internationally recognised figures such as award-winning Burmese filmmaker and artist Sai Kway Khaing. What sets this gallery apart is its rotating programme of exhibitions, meaning repeat visits are genuinely rewarding as the displayed works change frequently. The atmosphere is welcoming and unhurried, with visitors noting the warmth and attentiveness of the gallery's staff. It has also served as a venue for international artist exchange programmes, with groups from as far as South Korea participating in collaborative exhibitions — giving the space a lively, internationally connected character that goes beyond a typical regional gallery. As opening hours are not publicly listed, visitors are advised to contact the gallery directly before making a trip, or check in with local accommodation for current schedules. Given its location in the Chang Phueak area of central Chiang Mai, it pairs well with a broader afternoon exploring the Nimman or MAYA neighbourhood. Entry pricing is not specified, so it is worth confirming any admission details ahead of time.

Visitor Reviews
We are from South Korea. As part of a long international exchange with Thai artists, we are holding an exhibition. I am deeply moved by the kindness of the officials, including Mama, the director here, Look Comb, the exclusive artist, and Professor Upa, the representative of Thailand at this event, and I am deeply grateful for the cooperation.
Beautiful gallery space right in the heart of downtown and is truly incredible.Great presentation of artwork. Love this place. Lots of interesting art that changes frequently, so you can go by often and see something new. I highly recommend this art gallery.
Wonderful exhibition: Lifescapes of Burma. By award wining Burmese film maker Sai Kway Khaing
Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture
Dress Modestly
Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.
Mind Your Feet
Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.
Ask Before Photographing
Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
