Numthong Art Space
Nestled quietly within a residential pocket of the Ari neighbourhood, Numthong Art Space is a small contemporary art gallery dedicated to showcasing Thai artists and their work. Despite its unassuming location, it has earned a reputation as one of Bangkok's more thoughtful and intimate gallery spaces, drawing visitors who appreciate carefully curated exhibitions in a calm, unhurried setting. Visitors can expect rotating exhibitions that lean toward detailed, intricate work — past shows have featured extraordinarily fine ink drawings and imagined cartographic visualisations that reward close attention. The space itself is described by visitors as peaceful and inspiring, with a scale that feels personal rather than institutional. It is the kind of gallery where every piece in the room feels considered, making it a welcome contrast to the city's busier cultural venues. Numthong Art Space is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 to 18:00, and is closed on Sundays and Mondays, so it is worth planning ahead. The gallery is tucked into Soi Ari 5, which can feel hidden even to those actively looking for it — arriving on foot from the surrounding Ari streets is straightforward, and the neighbourhood itself is pleasant to explore. Checking the gallery's website before visiting is advisable, as exhibitions change and programming details are updated there.

Visitor Reviews
Excellent small gallery in #ari showing contemporary #thaiart. Visited during Bangkok Galleries Night to view the exhibition The Landscaoe of Pardoxity by Kwanchai Lichaikul ….super fine ink drawing representing the conflict between nature and urbanity! Very friendly artist happy to explain his work to visitors. Very nice art work!
A beautiful exhibition of delicate black-and-white linework. (5/5) Seriously, I loved every piece in the room. The exhibition was filled with the artist’s imagined maps and visualizations: a mix of the contradictions he sees in modern society and the ideal world he dreams of. Thought-provoking, detailed, and quietly powerful.
One of the nice galleries in BKK DOWNTOWN at Ari so peaceful and unique also inspired. I can spend all day here. Highly recommended

Dress Modestly
Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.
Mind Your Feet
Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.
Ask Before Photographing
Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
