LOFTER

4.2(1,380 reviews)$$$$

Occupying the 6th floor of Central Chidlom on Phloen Chit Road, this popular food court brings together a wide range of cuisines under one roof, including Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Indian, and Italian options. The elevated position offers views across to the neighbouring Central Embassy building, adding an unexpected bonus to the dining experience. It is a solid mid-range choice for shoppers, office workers, and travellers looking for variety without committing to a single cuisine. The ordering system sets Lofter apart from typical food courts. Visitors receive a card at the entrance, which is used to pay across all the stalls, making it straightforward to sample dishes from multiple vendors in one visit. Reviewers consistently praise the cleanliness, comfortable atmosphere, and attentive service, with staff collecting trays and keeping tables tidy throughout. Standout dishes mentioned by visitors include Hong Kong-style beef noodle soup and congee with beef and century egg. Good to know: Lofter is open daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, making it a convenient option for both lunch and dinner. As with most food courts inside major Bangkok malls, it tends to fill up during weekend afternoons and peak shopping hours, so visiting on a weekday or arriving early in the lunch period generally means shorter waits and more choice of seating. The mall is easily accessible via the BTS Skytrain at Chit Lom station.

Visitor Reviews

A foodcourt that implements a slightly different payment system : each visitor / customer is given a "credit card" at the entrance, and all costs of food and beverage ordered will be charged to said card, and you will pay everything at the exit point when returning the card. This makes entering the place easier (you just need to collect the "credit card" in lieu of paying for a prepaid cards like most other foodcourts), but I imagine there might be a queue at the exit point due to a centralized payment system. Having said that, it is crowded during lunch time, around 1200-1400. Besides serving different varieties of good food at affordable prices, it is also a tidy and beautiful place with many different sections for seating.

I have been many times in this place trying different meals. Had congee with beef and century egg also the one with pork meat balls both delicious coming with the seasoning on the side and little bread. Had Vietnamese take away too which was fresh and baguette was smaller than I expected. Wonton soup was delicious, beef noodle soup, papaya salad with the crab, noodles with the seafood all delicious too. I didn’t always take all the pictures but this food court was never crowded, very clean and they bring you the food to your table too. You can pay by card when leaving definitely 👍 attached are photos from my experience.

This place is amazing. Atmosphere was nice, selection was great, and the service is amazing. You go around and order by scanning a card, you set your receipt on the table and they have people that grab your food for you and you pay when you leave. The food portions are larger than other food courts and the food is only a little more expensive. The food itself was good as well and a good selection of drinks and deserts. Must try if you are staying nearby.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food

Learn the Spice Scale

Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.

Follow the Crowds

The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.

Ice Is Safe

Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
