Bangkok View Rooftop Bar
Perched above the legendary Khao San Road in the Phra Nakhon district, this rooftop bar draws evening crowds with its elevated vantage point over Bangkok's rooftops and skyline. Several visitors describe the view as genuinely impressive — one comparing it to a skyscraper perspective spanning much of the city — making it a notable option for travellers looking to experience the Khao San area from above the street-level chaos. The bar operates exclusively as an evening venue, opening at 6 PM every night and running until 2 AM, with a casual atmosphere that suits the backpacker-friendly neighbourhood. Buckets and cocktails are the typical order, though mixed reviews suggest drink quality can be inconsistent, with some guests noting weak pours relative to the price point. The interior has a themed décor that adds some personality beyond the outdoor view. Good to know: Travellers should be aware of a 10% service charge that is not always clearly communicated upfront — worth confirming before ordering to avoid surprises at the bill. Some visitors have also reported discrepancies on their final check, so it pays to keep track of orders. Arriving earlier in the evening, around 6 to 8 PM, offers a quieter experience and the chance to catch sunset views before the Khao San crowds peak later at night. The location is easily reached by tuk-tuk or taxi from most central Bangkok areas.

Visitor Reviews
You have to get up there and enjoy the view. It's almost like a skyscraper view; you can see all of Babgkok. Pretty awesome. The jnterior of the bar is really nice and there is some them like superheros and old antique stuff. You have to go there. Huge potential!!
Nice location with a nice view over the western part of the city. Prices looks a bit high but compare to what you get is actually equal or even bit less than others around (for example drinkin bucket cost more than somewhere else but you get also more)
Honestly, my experience at Bangkok View Rooftop Bar was pretty disappointing. The drinks were a huge letdown – there was basically no alcohol in them, even though the prices suggested they’d be something special. For what they charge, the quality just didn’t match up. The only saving grace was the decent view of Bangkok and Khao San Road – that part was nice. The staff were friendly, which helped a bit, but it’s not enough to make up for everything else. Overall, it’s an average spot with a lot of room for improvement. Fix the drinks and maybe it’d be worth another shot. For now, I wouldn’t rush back. Rating: 2/5 (mainly for the view and service).

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
