The Station Ayutthaya
Positioned directly on the platform at Ayutthaya train station, The Station offers a genuinely convenient dining stop for travellers catching trains to Bangkok or arriving to explore the ancient capital. Its location makes it one of the few places in the area where you can eat, rest, and keep an eye on your departure all at once. Inside, the air-conditioned interior provides welcome relief from the heat, and the menu covers enough ground to suit a quick snack or a more relaxed sit-down meal. Smoothies draw particular praise from visitors, and the coffee — including cappuccinos made with evident care — is a consistent highlight. Portions lean on the smaller side, so those with a bigger appetite may want to factor that in. The space is clean, the washrooms are accessible on-site, and free WiFi makes it an easy place to decompress between sightseeing and travel. The Station opens daily at 9:00 AM and closes at 8:00 PM, covering breakfast, lunch, and early dinner without exception throughout the week. It works especially well as a final stop before boarding — arrive a little early, order a coffee or a meal, and board your train without the usual platform scramble. Check their Facebook page for current menu details before visiting.

We had some lunch here before our train journey to Bangkok. It was great! The food was good, the service was great. The washrooms were clean and the AC was a relief from the heat. I would recommend going here if you need something to eat and need to cool down since the rest of the train station doesn’t have AC. It’s also quite affordable.
After exploring Ayutthaya for a half a day we stopped for a late lunch at The Station which has an AC! Food was good, although portions a bid small 😋 The cappuccino were even better which were made by a barista. We were impressed to have found specialty coffee in Ayutthaya!
I had a quick bite before hopping on the train to Bangkok. The enteance os litterally on the platform. The food is fair and smoothies are better. Its great to have the opportunity to have a quick meal at the station of needed.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
