Ayutthayarom Restaurant
Situated on the riverside in Tambon Ban Pom, this mid-range restaurant draws both locals and visiting travellers with its commitment to authentic Thai cooking and a setting that feels carefully considered in every detail. Wooden swings, wooden benches, and a courtyard contribute to an atmosphere that is at once elegant and approachable, with both indoor and outdoor seating available overlooking the water. The kitchen is particularly noted for regional and traditional dishes that go beyond standard tourist menus. Standout plates include green curry, hor mok with fish, chicken laab, and the lod chong dessert — dishes that have earned genuine praise from Thai diners and well-travelled visitors alike. Those seeking rarer Thai preparations will find them here, and the quality is consistently described as high, reflecting a kitchen that takes authenticity seriously. The price point sits slightly above the local average, though reviewers note the setting and food quality justify the difference. Open every day from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, the restaurant is well-positioned for travellers exploring Ayutthaya's nearby temples and historical sites, making it a practical choice for both lunch and dinner. Browsing the menu in advance via the restaurant's Instagram account is useful, particularly for those unfamiliar with some of the more traditional dishes on offer. Mid-afternoon visits tend to be quieter, which allows more time to appreciate the riverside atmosphere without the weekend crowds.

Visitor Reviews
As a Thai but also a tourist to this area I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant's green curry, hor mok with fish, chicken laab and lod chong dessert. The restaurant has an elegant but accessible vibe and the service was warm and attentive. The team escorted us from the parking lot into the courtyard. Another plus was the pandan water and beautiful banyan trees and other structures patrons can visit. The owner not only cares about the food but is also an informed person who can tell you about the rich history in the area. Hopefully the owner creates a vid telling the history of the area in English. Local people nearby hold this restaurant in high regard.
Years of traveling Thailand, this restaurant is very good. My Thai wife & daughter acknowledge this is very high quality authentic Thai food. Yes, more expensive than others but you get what you pay for. For me, this is the best in town! Wara the waitress, gives first class service !
The food is very delicious. The atmosphere is very good. If you want to eat rare Thai food, you can find it here.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
