Patok Beach
Patok Beach occupies a peaceful stretch of coastline in the Rawai area of southern Phuket, offering a natural alternative to the island's more crowded shores. The beach features soft white sand and exceptionally clear water, with designated swimming areas that keep conditions safe and organised. The sea clarity makes it a reliable spot for snorkelling, and a cliff-side viewpoint is accessible on foot for those who want a scenic vantage point along the coastline. Part of the beach's appeal lies in how it is reached. Visitors arriving by sea cannot dock directly, as larger boats are unable to come ashore — instead, the final stretch is completed by small inflatable boat or canoe, which adds a degree of charm to the arrival. On-site dining is limited to a single beachside venue, though its setting overlooking the Andaman Sea makes it a memorable option for both breakfast and evening meals. The Racha Hotel is situated nearby, and its guests are among the beach's regular visitors. Good to know: Patok Beach is best visited during the dry season, which runs from November to April, when skies are clear and sea conditions are at their calmest. The beach is reachable by road and taxi from central Phuket, and arriving earlier in the day during peak periods is advisable to avoid limited parking. Snorkelling equipment is not reliably available on site, so bringing your own is recommended. Sun protection is essential, as shade options along the beach are limited.

Visitor Reviews
Wow! I recently visited Patok Beach in Rawai, Phuket, and it was an absolute gem! The serene atmosphere, soft sand, and stunning views made it a perfect escape from the usual tourist hustle. The water was crystal clear, ideal for a relaxing dip, and the surrounding area had a laid-back vibe with friendly locals. It’s not overcrowded so far, which is a huge plus, and the sunset was breathtaking. Easily a 5-star experience—I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful beach day in Phuket!
Beautiful beach with soft, white sand and crystal clear water! Less crowded than usual, even though it's located in front of the resort. If you're able to take on the boat ride to get here it's well worth the trip, about a 20 min speedboat trip.
Sunny perfect beach spot with demarked areas for swimming. Clean waters and not overcrowded thankfully. There's a photo point ahead as well that you can walk to for a nice cliff side shot.

Tips for Visiting Beaches & Islands
Check Monsoon Seasons
The Andaman coast (Phuket, Krabi) has rough seas from May to October. The Gulf coast (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan) is roughest from October to December. Plan your island-hopping around these windows.
Snorkel Gear Is Cheap to Buy
Rental gear is often scratched and ill-fitting. Buy a decent mask and snorkel at a Tesco Lotus or Big C for 300–500 THB — cheaper than two days of rentals and much more hygienic.
Book Ferries on 12Go.Asia
The 12Go platform lets you compare ferry operators, times, and prices between islands. Book a day or two ahead in high season. Avoid the cheapest operators if reviews mention safety concerns.
