Haad Laem Sing

4.5(939 reviews)

Haad Laem Sing is a sheltered cove tucked along the coastline between Kamala and Surin Beach, offering clear water, fine sand, and natural rock formations that make it a favourite for casual snorkelling. Unlike the more developed beaches nearby, it remains relatively quiet and unhurried, attracting travellers looking to escape the crowds without venturing too far from Phuket's main tourist areas. Visitors can reach the beach in a few different ways: by longtail boat from Surin Beach, via a rocky trail with steps from the southern end of Surin Beach (approximately 15 minutes on foot), or through a separate path from the Kamala side. The beach itself is lightly set up, with a small number of sunbeds available for rent and a nearby restaurant offering food and drinks, though reviewers note that prices lean toward the higher end. Jet ski rental is also available on-site. The beach is open daily from 07:00 to 18:00. Those planning to hike in should wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes, as the trail is uneven and rocky — flip flops are strongly discouraged by visitors who have made the journey. Arriving earlier in the day helps secure a spot, as the limited facilities fill up quickly during peak season.

Visitor Reviews

This is a very nice and quiet beach with just a couple of sunbeds for rent, other than that it is not organized with anything. You can get there in 3 ways, either by boat from Suring beach, or through the jungle or the best way is to walk/hike for a few minutes from Surin beach following a path that indicates it goes to this beach (I managed the hike in flip flops). It is a pleasure to spend your day there if you ignore the trash left behind by others by the edge of the jungle along the beach. The sunset from this beach is very beautiful and you have a chance also during the day to play with the crabs on the the beach and maybe also to meet a monkey or two (I did not have this chance). You can go into the water without water shoes easily in the first half of the beach.

The beach is secluded, and quite nicer then the regular ones. It can be accessed through a minor hike from Surin Beach, i advise you Not to do it in flip flops. You can reach it by taking a longtail boat from Kamala beach for a roundtrip but a bit of rip off in season i went in early december 2025 and they were asking 1500 baht. A cheaper alternative is to take a Grab to Surin beach (from kamala 200 baht) and then hike for 15 minutes. It has a couple of sunbeds but i don t know the cost, and a terrace where you can buy smoothies and water. Beware that in the jungle you should not enter barefoot..there is garbage broken bottles etc and you risk seriously getting a cut.

Somewhat subculed beach with clear water, fine sand, and great rocks for snorkeling. To get here, you can either hop on a long tail boat or hike 15 minutes from the Southern end of the Surin beach. Just follow the signs and the trail is well marked. It is quite rocky but doable with a flipflops. Do not set your GPS to the viewpoint if you are planning to go on the beach. Instead, go to Surin beach and start your hike there.

Tips for Visiting Beaches & Islands

Check Monsoon Seasons

The Andaman coast (Phuket, Krabi) has rough seas from May to October. The Gulf coast (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan) is roughest from October to December. Plan your island-hopping around these windows.

Snorkel Gear Is Cheap to Buy

Rental gear is often scratched and ill-fitting. Buy a decent mask and snorkel at a Tesco Lotus or Big C for 300–500 THB — cheaper than two days of rentals and much more hygienic.

Book Ferries on 12Go.Asia

The 12Go platform lets you compare ferry operators, times, and prices between islands. Book a day or two ahead in high season. Avoid the cheapest operators if reviews mention safety concerns.
