LONGTAIL BOAT PHI PHI
Based in Aonang, Krabi, this tour agency specialises in private longtail boat charters to the Phi Phi Islands, giving travellers a more personal and flexible alternative to large group tour boats. The iconic wooden longtail boat is a quintessential part of southern Thailand's maritime culture, and departing from Tonsai on Phi Phi or directly from Aonang, visitors can tailor their routes to suit their own pace and interests rather than following a fixed schedule. Private charters are the standout offering here, with trip durations typically ranging from three to six hours. Reviewers consistently highlight the professionalism and friendliness of the boat drivers, the freedom to linger at preferred spots, and the operator's willingness to accommodate last-minute changes to itineraries. Six-hour bookings are particularly well-regarded for allowing enough time to take in multiple highlights, including swimming stops, scenic limestone formations, and quieter beaches away from busier tourist areas. The open-air nature of longtail boats allows for unobstructed views and easy access to the water throughout the journey. Good to know: The operation runs daily from 08:00 to 23:00, offering flexibility for different travel schedules. Private bookings are recommended over waiting for walk-in availability, especially during peak season from November through February when demand is at its highest. Bringing strong sun protection, a hat, and quick-dry clothing is advisable, as longtail boats offer little shade. Full pricing and booking details are available through the operator's website at longtailboatphiphi.com.

Visitor Reviews
Rented 6h private boat and could not have been happier with our experience. From start to finish the staff was knowledgeable and advised on different routes we could take and the times, they were very friendly and our driver was the best. We started the trip at 12.30 headed to the Pileh Lagoon, then to Maya Bay but we did not go to the beach we drove around from the other side and we recommended doing that ! We saved around 1/1,5h by not going and did not miss out on the views either ! We then went to Monkey beach and the driver took us to nice secluded spot for snorkelling (plenty of fishes around !) We then went around other Phi Phi islands and snorkelled in another location (again we have seen A LOT of fishes!). Throughout the trip we had plenty of time to take lots of photos/ breaks and snorkel in multiple locations, we driver was giving us truly 5 ⭐️ service and we felt we missed all the crowds 100%. Towards the end we spend couple hours on the open sea watching sunset and snorkelling ( again so many fishes it was unrealistic ). We would highly recommend the private boat rental as we had THE BEST time and we would do the rental again in a heart beat! Thank you to the staff for the professionalism and truly making the experience unique ❤️
The trip to Phi Phi Leh was truly amazing, and I'm so glad we found the right boat station right on Tonsai. Everything worked out perfectly: we arranged a three-hour stay with the boatman, which was just enough time to get a feel for the islands before heading back to the mainland. Huge respect for the service - there were cold drinks on board, which was a lifesaver in this heat, and when it turned out we didn't have the money to pay the entrance fee to Maya Bay (large bills), the guy quickly found some change and helped us out. A special highlight was the Pi Leh Bay lagoon, where we dove right off the boat. The water there is absolutely surreal, and in terms of swimming, it was easily the best spot of the entire trip. In general, moments like these are what make a trip to Phi Phi worth it - when there's no fuss and everything is decided on the spot. The photos turned out beautifully; they capture the atmosphere better than words. That shot of the boat's bow against the turquoise lagoon is now definitely a top favorite, and the Maya Bay shots look like they belong on a cover, even though we were there for a moment. The angle with the rocks and crystal-clear water is something that will remain etched in your memory.
We booked a private longtail boat around Phi Phi and it was an amazing experience. The boat driver was very friendly, professional, and took great care of us throughout the trip. We had complete flexibility to stop wherever we wanted for photos and swimming, which made the tour feel very relaxed and personal. The sea was crystal clear, the scenery was stunning, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. Definitely worth it — we would absolutely book again! 🌊✨

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
