Lanta Diver – Koh Lanta Diving and Snorkeling
Based in Sala Dan at the northern tip of Koh Lanta, this well-established diving and snorkeling operator runs structured trips to the coral reefs, rocky outcrops, and smaller islands scattered across the surrounding Andaman waters. The shop caters to a wide range of experience levels — from first-time snorkelers and complete beginners pursuing their first certification, through to experienced divers looking to add Rescue Diver or other advanced qualifications to their credentials. Courses are handled with clear communication from the start, and instructors are noted for being knowledgeable, patient, and professional throughout. The atmosphere reflects Koh Lanta's relaxed character while maintaining a genuinely organised operation. Hotel pick-up and drop-off is available for snorkeling tours, guides brief participants thoroughly on each site before entering the water, and both diving and snorkeling groups are managed with care and attention. The shop is run by a team that takes the time to give honest advice — including recommending course combinations that offer better value rather than simply upselling individual options. Good to know: The shop opens seven days a week from 8am to 5pm, making it straightforward to arrange bookings around a flexible itinerary. Booking directly through their website ahead of arrival is advisable during peak season, as popular trips and courses fill quickly. Bring reef-safe sunscreen and a rash guard for sun protection during surface intervals and snorkeling portions of the day.

Visitor Reviews
Planned pretty much my whole Thailand trip around learning to dive with Lanta Divers, and I’m so glad I did. From the first email with Julie, the professionalism and efficiency of the shop became clear. Throughout my 10 dives with them I felt everyone there strikes a perfect balance between having fun and taking safety seriously. It’s clear the whole staff takes pride in what they do. I did my Open Water Cert with Tae, who is SO clearly brilliant at getting beginners to grips with the basics of diving. He was a steady, calm and humorous instructor for our group of newbies. I later did my Advanced Open Water with Gaz, who was also super patient and friendly. I always felt well taken care of as a new diver. Overall I had a great experience and will absolutely dive with these guys again when I’m back in Lanta.
Amazing experience with Lanta Diver! We had such a fantastic day with Lanta Diver. My boyfriend booked a scuba diving trip while I joined the snorkeling tour, and both experiences were handled so smoothly and professionally. I was paired with Isabelle as my snorkeling guide, and she was absolutely amazing—kind, patient, knowledgeable, and made me feel completely comfortable in the water. She took great care of me the entire time and made the experience truly enjoyable and relaxing. The whole team was friendly, well-organized, and clearly passionate about what they do. From start to finish, everything felt safe, fun, and well taken care of. Highly recommend Lanta Diver whether you’re diving or snorkeling—we’d definitely book with them again! 🌊🤿✨
We had an amazing experience at this diving school and truly enjoyed every moment. Everything was well organized, and the atmosphere was very friendly and professional. A very special thank you to our instructor Gaz — he explained everything clearly, patiently, and made us feel confident and comfortable underwater. Thanks to him, we really learned how to dive properly and safely. Our only small recommendation would be to slightly update some of the equipment. Other than that, everything was absolutely perfect. We highly recommend this diving school and would happily come back again!

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
