Wat Khao Chong Pradu
Nestled on a hill in Hua Hin, Wat Khao Chong Pradu is a Buddhist temple and nature preserve that draws visitors as much for its natural setting as for its religious significance. The approach itself is part of the experience — a manageable uphill walk from the main road through natural surroundings, with a local restaurant conveniently located at the base of the trail. The temple grounds feature a pagoda and offer a calm, serene atmosphere that contrasts with the busier coastal attractions of the Hua Hin area. The temple also serves as an active place of worship and community gathering. Seasonal Buddhist ceremonies such as the Kathin merit-making tradition bring the site to life with food stalls, donations, and a festive local atmosphere that offers genuine cultural insight for travellers who time their visit well. It is worth noting that recent visitor accounts suggest the site may be quieter and less maintained than it once was, so expectations should be set accordingly. The temple is open daily from 09:00 to 17:00, making it a straightforward half-day addition to a Hua Hin itinerary. As with all Thai temples, modest dress covering shoulders and knees is expected out of respect. Checking the temple's Facebook page before visiting is advisable for current event schedules and condition updates.

Visitor Reviews
Hello, personally I really enjoyed the way you get to this temple. You have to walk up a hill, but not for long. It starts from the main road. There's a local restaurant right at the beginning. The place is quiet, no tourists, and you can explore the immediate surroundings until you reach a golden seated Buddha. Be careful, it's hidden by greenery and you have to look for it a bit. Then there's nothing but open space! There's also a seated stone Buddha. In my opinion, very old! You'll pass by it before reaching the golden Buddha. Enjoy your walk and the beautiful view of Khao Takiap.
I came to the Kathin ceremony today. It was fun and impressive. I helped donate things and there were many food stalls.

Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture
Dress Modestly
Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.
Mind Your Feet
Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.
Ask Before Photographing
Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
